Kerry’s Israeli Peace Plan Falls Short
John Kerry isn’t helping. The secretary of state tried for the second time to bring a level of peace to the conflict in Israel, but after six days, the best he got was a 12-hour cease-fire. Michael Oren, former Israeli ambassador to the U.S., told The Wall Street Journal, “Give us diplomatic cover in the U.N. The best thing that Kerry can do is stay out. We need time to do the job, we need to inflict a painful and unequivocal blow on Hamas. Anything less would be a Hamas victory.” Indeed, Hamas appears to have made a down payment on weapons from North Korea. A lull in fighting will only bring war of a greater magnitude. More…
