Could Value Voters Choose 2016 GOP Candidate?

The first few steps of the GOP’s path to the 2016 presidential election could begin in an Iowa pew. Four of the GOP’s presidential hopefuls visited the Family Leadership Summit last weekend – Sen. Ted Cruz, Gov. Rick Perry, former-Gov. Mike Huckabee, former-Sen. Rick Santorum. All spoke to the 1,000 attendees about faith and conservative Christianity. “Evangelicals will decide the Republican nominee in Iowa and South Carolina, there’s no question about that,” Dave Lane said, a GOP operative. Faith voters need a candidate that does not slather on the religious platitudes to manipulate, but a candidate that displays genuine faith. The trick is looking at the candidates’ actions. Do they simply say little more than “God bless the USA,” or do their policies and actions reflect a life lived in Christian principals? More…
