Iraq Doesn’t Want American Troops
Iraqi Prime Minister Halder al-Abadi told the Associated Press his country does not need American troops on the ground to counter the ISIL offense. That they can take care of that threat all on their own. “Not only is it not necessary. We don’t want them. We won’t allow them. Full stop,” he said. He continued, “The only contribution the American forces or the international coalition are going to help us with is from the sky. We are not giving any blank check to the international coalition to hit any target in Iraq.” Just a few weeks ago, the Iraqi government was breaking apart. Is declaration of independence an indication we will attach the word “dictator” to al-Abadi’s name? Will the country ultimately disintegrate into chaos? Only time will tell. More…
