Marine Freed From Mexican Prison
Former Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi was freed from a Mexican jail Saturday, where he languished for more than 200 days because he made a wrong turn and accidentally took guns into Mexico (unlike, say, the Obama Justice Department, which knowingly trafficked guns to Mexican drug cartels). In a statement, former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson said, “The totality of diplomacy, the judicial process, the legal strategy and the importance of the American-Mexican relationship resulted in Andrew’s release. And now we have this great outcome. Andrew’s coming home.” Richardson continued, “The judicial process of Mexico made the right choice. The humanitarian release was justified based on PTSD, something that the Mexican judicial and medical system is not as conscious of as the United States.” But it was no thanks to Secretary of State John Kerry, who talked little and did nothing to bring this former soldier home.
