Colorado School Tries to Censor Christian Students
A high school in Colorado banned a group of students from meeting in the choir room during their free time to pray, sing songs and talk about Christianity. While the school made the excuse that there’s a separation of church and state, the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) filed a lawsuit in federal court on behalf of the students. “Public schools should encourage the free exchange of ideas,” said Jeremy Tedesco, ADF senior legal counsel. “Instead, this school implemented an ill-conceived ban that singles out religious speech for censorship during free time.” Yet another example of a school taking policy too far.
