Bill Clinton Didn’t Mind Meeting With Netanyahu’s Opponent
In one week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to deliver a contentious speech before members of Congress. Obama spokeswoman Bernadette Meehan explained that “the president will not be meeting with … Netanyahu because of the proximity to the Israeli election, which is just two weeks after his planned address to the U.S. Congress.” Obama expounded on this during a joint press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel: “As much as I love Angela, if she were two weeks from an election, she probably would not have received an invitation to the White House – and I suspect she wouldn’t have asked for one.” In other words, Obama’s snubbing has to do with integrity and principle. Right – and Bill Clinton “did not have sexual relations with that woman.” Speaking of Clinton, on Tuesday’s “Morning Joe,” MSNBC anchor Mika Brzezinski begrudgingly admitted, “In 1996, the Clinton administration hosted [Israeli Prime Minister] Shimon Peres for a U.S. visit while he was in the midst of an election against” – drumroll – “Benjamin Netanyahu.” Yep, the very man Obama’s cadres are now working to defeat in Israel’s upcoming election. And we’re supposed to believe none of this has to do with Netanyahu’s hard stance on Iran? In truth, Democrats will do whatever it takes to oust a real leader.
