Netanyahu Not Playing Washington Politics
The White House has fired back over the incoming visit of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The administration so adept at playing politics blame Bibi of playing the same game when he visits Washington in March to speak about the threat of Iran. Susan Rice, Obama’s national security advisor, said Netanyahu “injected a degree of partisanship, which is not only unfortunate, I think it’s destructive of the fabric of the relationship” between the two countries. But that’s only if Democrats make it so. Senate Democrats invited Netanyahu to speak to them, separately from Congress, but he declined. In a letter, Netanyahu wrote, “Though I greatly appreciate your kind invitation to meet with Democratic Senators, I believe that doing so at this time could compound the misperception of partisanship regarding my upcoming visit.” See, Netanyahu is coming to Washington to speak to the body of Congress about the focused topic of Iran. It’s a subject so important – with the Obama administration crafting a crappy deal with the country – that Netanyahu believes it’s not enough to send a letter or create a video.
