Facts Don’t Matter to Leftists Who Touted Rolling Stone Story
After the Charlottesville Police Department reduced the embellished Rolling Stone rape story to rubble, the Left has scrambled to defend the woman who apparently made false accusations about the University of Virginia fraternity. It’s an effort to save face after the Left swallowed the story hook, line and sinker. “Victim-blaming or shining the spotlight on her for coming forward is not the right approach,” Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand said on the radio show Capitol Pressroom. “In fact, what we have to focus on is: how do we keep these campuses safe? … One of the challenges with survivors of sexual trauma and rape is that they often don’t want to actually participate with law enforcement because they don’t think justice is possible. They don’t think they will be believed; they think they’ll be blamed. It’s not about any one case or any one investigation. It’s about a very serious problem that is taking place across campuses across the country.” See? The facts of the situation don’t matter. Gillibrand introduced to Congress The Campus Accountability and Safety Act so she has to defend the accusations of “Jackie,” no matter how false and manipulative they turn out to be.
