Is the CEO of Sam’s Club biased against white males? Rosalind Brewer has drawn criticism for her company, Sam’s Club, after she gave an interview with CNN talking about her efforts to foster diversity in the workplace. It starts with the people that make up the executive team Brewer surrounded herself with, “and I make that a priority,” she said. But this belief seems seems to extend to whom she will do business with. “Just today we met with a supplier and the entire other side of the table was all Caucasian males,” Brewer recounted. “That was interesting. I decided not to talk about it directly with [the supplier’s] folks in the room because there were actually no female, like, levels down. So I’m going to place a call to him.” The antithesis of this situation would draw buckets of criticism from the leftists in popular culture. Say a CEO of a large company said he or she only surrounds themselves with like people, employees of the same race or same gender, whether white, Indian, Democrat or male. Where’s the diversity in that? Furthermore, the problem comes to a head if Brewer is so beholden to her ideas on diversity in the work place that she does not effectively serve the members of Sam’s Club looking for discounts.
