Well-known liberals like Whoopi Goldberg, Don Lemon, Bernie Sanders, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Michael Bloomberg (to name but a few) all claim fully automatic firearms are a big problem in America. They also claim that the “gun show loophole” — an exploitation said to allow prospective gun purchasers to skirt background checks — increases “gun violence” in places like Chicago.

So comedian Steven Crowder put these theories to the test. In an undercover video, he asked numerous firearm dealers if they had fully automatic weapons available for purchase. Every seller made it clear that, not only are non-licensed merchants legally restricted from selling machine guns, but a buyer without a Class 3 Firearms License is also prohibited from owning one. They also cannot legally sell any firearm to a person who intends to modify the weapon to make it automatic.

For argument’s sake, let’s chalk up this debate to a confusion of terminology between semi-automatic and automatic. But what about the “gun show loophole”? During Obama’s recent town hall spectacle on CNN, he blamed Chicago’s violence epidemic on the neighboring state: “Well, the problem is that about 30, 40% of those guns are coming from Indiana, across the border, where there are much laxer laws. And so folks will go to a gun show and purchase a whole bunch of firearms, put them in a van, drive up … [to] the South Side of Chicago … open up the trunk, and those things are for sale.” So Crowder “specifically went to the [gun show] in Crown Point, Indiana, that Barack Obama went out of his way to vilify.” And there, too, he was rejected and even laughed at for suggesting he could purchase a gun without a background check. And regardless of where he went, no amount of excuses for his “criminal” background or even bribery could persuade them, either. Said one vendor, “You could come in with a million dollars cash and I still wouldn’t give it to you.”

Imagine that — gun sellers are, well, law-abiding. To paraphrase The Gipper, the problem is that liberals know so many things that just aren’t so. Check it out (warning: some foul language):
