Inquiring Minds Want to Know
“He who permits himself to tell a lie once, finds it much easier to do it a second and third time, till at length it becomes habitual.”
There’s so much happening in the country right now, it’s hard to know where to start.
Let’s begin with the most current kerfuffle in DC. Two separate troves of classified documents were discovered in Joe Biden’s possession. However, he does not remember!
Several questions pop into my mind. First of all, why were “lawyers” sent to clean out a closet? Are they on retainer and needed some busywork? If Biden didn’t know he had them, are there other documents somewhere he may have “forgotten”? Why did the National Archives wait over two months after the midterm election to report this?
Just last summer, when the FBI raided President Donald Trump’s Florida home, the media were clutching their pearls, shrieking about the threat to national security. Since then, there’s been crickets as to what was actually found. Biden even threw his two cents in, claiming how irresponsible Trump was. Will there be the same treatment? Will there be a raid on Biden’s homes with dozens of armed agents? Inquiring minds want to know!
As long as we are on the subject of federal agents making armed raids on criminal suspects, here’s a thought: Who at the Justice Department makes the call to send dozens of agents to the home of a pro-life spokesperson, waving guns in the faces of the couple in front of their children? Who at Justice sends SWAT-style teams in the dead of night to break down doors of conservatives who have not been charged with a crime? How long will we allow this to happen?
Will Hillary Clinton ever face any type of consequences for her actions as secretary of state? She had classified documents on a home server that was not secure, James Comey’s FBI allowed her staff to smash multiple devices that might have contained classified information, and BleachBit was used to clean her computer of any damaging information. How about deleting 30,000 emails under subpoena with no consequences? Are they running out the clock on the statute of limitations?
I’ve heard Barack Obama took two million documents when he left office to digitalize for his presidential library. Does anyone in the media know about this? Here’s a rhetorical question: Do they even care? As many conservatives have pointed out, if it weren’t for double standards, the Left wouldn’t have any at all!
Can you imagine a transportation secretary or homeland security secretary under a Republican president being treated with kid gloves like Pete Buttigieg or Alejandro Mayorkas for spectacular failures? Thinking out loud, it seems the ability to lie with a straight face to Congress or the media is a feature for Democrats, not a bug. Don’t get me wrong — the Republican Party is not in a position to throw stones!
On top of all this, we have a liar-in-chief who can tell a lie easily without breaking a sweat. President Thomas Jefferson noted: “He who permits himself to tell a lie once, finds it much easier to do it a second and third time, till at length it becomes habitual; he tells lies without attending to it, and truths without the world’s believing him. This falsehood of the tongue leads to that of the heart, and in time depraves all its good dispositions.”
Buckle up, America; it’s going to be a bumpy ride!
Something to think about?
