Dear Republicans

It seems some people are incapable of learning. The “leadership” of the Republican Party, and most of the rank-and-file members, too, especially in the Senate, seem to epitomize this. There are several very simple concepts that they just can’t seem to wrap their fuzzy little, can’t-we-all-just-get-along brains around.

First, the voters want them to be partisan. It is why we elected them, and not the neo-fascist Democrat they ran against. We voted for them because they claimed to have very different values and political principles than their opponents. Therefore, we expect them, as men of supposed principle, to follow through, to stand up and stand fast for our shared beliefs. Americans do not compromise their principles.

Which brings us to concept two: compromise. Put very simply, so even a Senator can understand it, we never – I repeat, never – compromise our principles. Never. Period.

Compromise, in any case, has become defined in the minds of these intractables as meaning, “Give up everything we want, and do exactly as the Democrats tell us to.” This is a refrain that the Ministry of Propaganda, aka, the “mainstream” media, sings with great gusto, over and over, day-in and day-out. However, other than the neo-fascist Democrat faithful, Republicans on Capitol Hill seem to be the only ones who believe it. And this segues nicely into concept three.

This is one of the most glaringly obvious, and the mind boggles that these folks, though many are admittedly not overly well-endowed with brain cells, still do not understand this: no matter what they do, which includes “reaching out, across the aisle,” “being bipartisan,” and “compromising,” the media will bad-mouth them, call them names, mock them, and lie about them and their intentions. They have been doing this for nearly 50 years, and I have not noticed any inclination on their part to change. They are so obviously in the tank for the radical left that what they spew out cannot be viewed as anything other than Democrat Party propaganda, and at this point, again, everyone except our reality-grasp challenged Republicans knows it.

Their lack of ability to understand these simple concepts has led to a final concept, well understood by voters, as graphically illustrated in the 2010 elections, but one they seem to totally baffled by. This is the concept that is fundamental to a free republic: they can, and given their abysmal recent record of dithering and caving on the most important of issues, will, be voted out of office.

Too many of these arrogant fools, particularly in the elitist boys and girls club that the Senate has degenerated into, think that they are untouchable. Re-election, to them, has devolved into a right, the ultimate entitlement, and neo-fascist Democrats, especially, often think their seats are hereditary. Think again.

The Tea Parties are our first and best hope of changing all this for the better. Dozens of Tea Party supported candidates were elected in 2010 at the federal level, and hundreds at the state and local levels, nationwide. They showed that we can find and elect principled conservatives to just about any office out there. We no longer need to accept the “lesser of two evils.” However, they also made it clear that we can’t do this by continuing business as usual. We must get off the couch, turn off the TV, and get involved, if only for an hour or two a week. We must take back the political system that was usurped while we were “too busy” with our personal lives to do what used to be understood as our civic duty. The self-servers, the parasites, the power-hungry must be tossed on the proverbial ash heap of history, enabling real, patriotic Americans to set the ship of state back on a course that will take us back to Constitutional government.

This weekend’s debt ceiling confrontation will let us know, one way or the other, who is with us, and who is not. In spite of the Herculean efforts of the Ministry of Propaganda, Democrats, and establishment Republicans and RINOs, to get us to believe that not raising the debt limit will bring on the End of the World, this is not a crisis. Our fiscal obligations can be met simply by making cuts elsewhere. As I noted previously, a good place to start would be with cutting the $174,000-a-year-salary-plus-very-generous-expenses-plus-very-large-and-expensive-staffs-plus-huge-benefit-and-retirement-pacakages these politicians have voted for themselves. Funny, I can’t recall even one of ‘em suggesting this. Hmmm…

In any case, those who do not stand firm – no more borrowing, no more spending, and definitely, no more taxes – need to be unceremoniously booted out of office. Period. No compromise.
