Neither Michelle nor Barack Obama truly embraced religion as “church was not their thing,” says Barack Obama’s former pastor for 20 years. According to Jeremiah Wright, they were in it for the politics. Though this is old news for people who could never square Obama’s professions of faith with his actions, it is additional confirmation from the outspoken Wright who knew Obama intimately.

There is no greater evidence that Barack Obama needs the prayers of all Christians than his blasphemy of the only One who can save his soul: Jesus Christ. The current President of the United States is a tragedy on display for all to see. That Obama is willing to bring others down with him with deceit and convolutions about the Christian faith reveals a personal war against his Creator. Whether his motives are singularly for political gain in his attempt to hijack then denigrate God’s Word in the Bible, matters less. Obama will stand alone before the Creator God who will not be charmed by a winning smile or adept cunningness.

Where does Barack Obama mislead? He has thrust his support of homosexuality to the front of his agenda. That Barack Obama the man supports homosexuality is his choice. That Obama uses the name of Christ to imply that Christianity in anyway approves of homosexuality is an open assault on the God of the Bible. It would be the same if Obama did so in regard to adultery or greed or any sin that God forbids through the instructions of His written Word. In regard to homosexuality, God’s message is clear. First of all, Christians do not hate homosexuals or adulterers or people who fall short of God’s Word. All humans sin, we are all in it together. God does not make exceptions for Gays or any of us. It is how we strive to our rein in our sinful natures that separates Christians apart from those who pursue and perpetuate their sins against God. True Christians’ greatest joy is that God’s grace can cover all of us through repenting of sin and accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. That means not adhering to our own judgments of others, our own agendas, our own weaknesses, but to the instructions of His Word in the Bible.

Obama explicitly stated that he supports homosexuality because: “You know, when we think about our faith, the thing at root that we think about is, not only Christ sacrificing Himself on our behalf, but it’s also the Golden Rule.” Broken down, Obama implies that Jesus sacrificed himself on the cross so that the sin of homosexuality could be pursued without conscience and with impunity. The Bible clearly states God’s abhorrence to homosexuality just as it does to adultery or greed or other sins of a fallen humanity. What Mr. Obama should have cited were the following Biblical instructions from God on the matter:

Leviticus 18:22 – You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.

Romans 1:24-27 – 24 Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, 25 because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. 26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; 27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 – Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

The Bible warns that leading others astray is the greater sin. Tossing the name of Christ into a political statement during the middle of an election year fools no one but the uninformed. Though all Americans must be shown respect if they are contributing to the betterment of this nation, God is not fooled by outward professions. 1 Samuel 16:7 – "Man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart.“  Presidents and paupers are equal in the eyes of God and He judges them by their adherence to His Holy Word.

The attack on God and God’s Word is nothing new. Obama joins the legions of those with the hubris to supplant the God of the universe with their own self-glorification. Circumventing or changing the meaning of scripture allows the buffer of self-denial to themselves and others that they are at odds with God. Their easy fix is: Don’t like God’s instructions to His people, rewrite them or take them out of context. As an example, Psalm 14:1 could be quoted as saying, "There is no God.” The full text reads, “Only a fool says in his heart there is no God.” Obama’s behavior is the antithesis, the opposite, of true Christianity and is an affront to the saving message of Jesus Christ. God’s mercy, forgiveness and grace are there for him should he humble himself before his Creator by adhering to God’s written word. A few select men, named in the Bible, were used by the Holy Spirit to write down God’s word with Scripture making it abundantly clear that anyone who adds to or takes away from it – are a curse to God. Obama or anyone attempting to rewrite scripture is perpetrating a vehemently anti-Christian act of aggression against the Bible. Barack Obama continuously reveals his anti-Biblical stance and undermining of the faith by his attempt to hijack Christianity, take its meaning out of context and use it as political fodder.
