The Crime: Collusion

The Perpetrator: The Democratic Party; Co-conspirators: The Republican Party

It is highly unlikely that Thomas Jefferson anticipated his Republican-Democrat party would become the nidus of an infection that would spread and become epidemic in our great republic. It did just that and set the tenor for political partisanship and factionalism for the next two hundred plus years.

Jefferson was secretary of state in Washington’s cabinet and came into conflict with Alexander Hamilton, who like Washington was a Federalist. Jefferson resigned his office in 1793. Sharp political conflict arose and Jefferson, who sympathized with the French revolution, began pulling together his Democratic-Republican Party. Jefferson gradually assumed leadership of the Republicans who opposed a strong centralized government and championed the rights of states.

Jefferson, a reluctant presidential candidate in 1796 came within three votes of winning outright. A flaw in the constitution forced a vote in the House of Representatives between Jefferson and Aaron Burr. Though Hamilton disliked both, he urged the House to elect Jefferson even though Jefferson was a political opponent of John Adams. In any event, the Republic ended up with a federalist president and a Democratic-Republican vice president.

When Jefferson became our third president, he was not shy about using his powers; though the constitution made no provision for the acquisition of new land, Jefferson “suppressed his qualms over constitutionality” and took the opportunity to acquire the Louisiana Territory from Napoleon in 1803.

By 1824, there began a clamoring for a departure from the old ways of selecting a president. Under the old method, the incumbent secretary of state became the presumptive succeeding president. With only one party, the Republican, sectionalism and factionalism had developed. The southern section put up Andrew Jackson to run against John Quincy Adams, the northern candidate. Two other candidates added confusion to the race, William H. Crawford and Henry Clay. Jackson outpolled Adams, Adams outpolled Crawford and Clay. The race was to be decided again by the House of Representatives.

Clay, who favored policies similar to those of Adams, threw his crucial support to Adams who then became our sixth president.

When he became president, Adams appointed Clay to be his secretary of state. Andrew Jackson, the first Democrat and his followers charged that a “corrupt bargain” had taken place and set about wresting the presidency from Adams. It took four year and a dirty political campaign of 1828 during which Jackson and the Democrats charged Adams with corruption and public plunder. In March 1829, Andrew Jackson became the first Democratic president. He proclaimed himself the first popularly elected president. The worst of party politics began. Jackson’s presidency was the beginning of the “spoils” system annunciated openly by a Democratic New York senator, “To the victors belong the spoils.” And little or nothing has changed to dispel that horrendous political notion.

The foregoing brings our system up-to-date. Corruption is rampant; dispensation of favors is evident in every branch of our government. True, some few elected and some appointed officials have been brought before the bar of justice. Some have been removed from office, mostly appointed judges. One United States Senator, William Blount was impeached, failed to show for trial and was thrown out of the senate. Two presidents have been impeached, Andrew Johnson simply because the southern Democrats hated the fact that Johnson served as Lincoln’s Vice-President, and as a southerner failed to go back to Tennessee and aid the confederacy. William Jefferson Clinton has become wealthy despite being impeached for lying rather than for his indecent conduct as president. Richard Nixon resigned before the House could impeach him.

There is a decided propensity for elected officials to ignore criminal behavior by their contemporaries. It is obvious that EVERY member of congress is guilty of collusion. Every one has repeatedly violated his or her oath of office. Each has sworn to uphold the United States Constitution. They do so only selectively. There are some 200 attorneys serving in congress all of whom failed to point out the constitutional infractions in the HealthCare bill and voted passage of that monstrosity.

Worst of all, every congressperson has knowingly breached their personal contract by allowing Barack Hussein Obama to fail to carry out his duties. EVERY Democratic senator and representative has acted in collusion with Mr. Obama. As Americans perceive the situation, The Great Impostor has been given a green light to do as he chooses and to hell with the Constitution, God and America, and those ideals we hold near and dear.

Every American should be insisting that Barack Obama be impeached and every democrat tried for violation of their oath of office. By definition, collusion is a total negative, it is criminal behavior, it is nationally detrimental, corrosive and ultimately DEADLY!

Our nation is in imminent danger of total destruction from the inside. Sad!
