Diplomatic Knavery
The redline established by our President as a game changer for our undefined foreign policy toward the Syrian dictator Mr. Assad, the one that our State Department sometime back called A Reformer, and his staying in power a positive presence in the unstable Middle East world, is here!
The famous redline was meant to assure the world the limit of our patience with the tyrant that in the short time of two years, has been fighting an unbalanced war that have left more than 70 thousand dead and many more thousands of civilians displaced.
The redline would be reached [our President is quoted promising the World several times] when the Syrian regime dared to use poison gas against the civilian population. It is known today that we reached the redline when the regime used small portions of Sarin gas in two occasions against civilians. Our President has a new redline Rev.1 today – one that he will not have to revise again in a long time because its application now is contingent to a UN resolution showing the international community agrees that chemical weapons were used by the Syrian regime against the civilian population.
In practical terms redlineRev.1 or game changer Rev.1 would never be implemented and our mischievous President could not be called for action as long as Russia has veto power in the Security Council where all these resolutions are approved. Very smart decision from Obama to assure himself a safety position from where he can warn Assad and make his legs tremble fearing that American patience is reaching its limit. To make his position foolproof he could have added to his game changer Rev.1 an additional requirement that the amount of Sarin had to be greater than a small portion.
