Letter to President Obama on Syria
President Obama,
Let’s cut to the chase Mr. President. This thing in Syria, it’s all about one thing – a narcissistic, ego driven president, full of himself, trying to retain some semblance of credibility. On your own, especially regarding foreign policy or military matters, you don’t know squat. Everything you say and do is scripted for you in advance, put on the teleprompter, and you spit it out. But about a year ago you got off script, drew the red line, Syria crossed it, now you’re trying to save face and make the world believe you still have credibility. NEWS FLASH: You lost all credibility mid-January, 2009 when you raised your right hand and took an Oath of Office to protect and defend the Constitution then proceeded forthwith to dishonor that oath, day-in and day-out, for the past five years with untold numbers of unconstitutional acts and decisions.
I have read and heard a lot of commentary/opinion over the past few days regarding the Syrian issue. Additionally, I’ve done a bit of research on exactly what authority you have with regards to WAR. I’d like to share a compilation of it with you. First off, your incompetence is exceeded only by your arrogance. And surrounding yourself with hundreds of other incompetents greatly compounds the problem. America is in a sorry mess thanks to you.
One of your many lies is that you were a “constitutional attorney.” What you forgot to add was that your degree came from the Saul Alinsky School of Deceit. You’re as good as any politician in my lifetime of misleading statements, omissions of truth and fact, twisting word and meanings, and obfuscation; short definition – lying. And, let me add, casting blame onto others. That’s not “leadership.” Let me quote from a document that would be required reading in Constitutional Law 101 at any reputable institution: “The Congress shall have the Power…To declare War….” (US Constitution, Article 1, Section 8, Clause 11) The CONGRESS, not the President. Show me an amendment that changes this requirement.
……waiting…..waiting….
The War Powers Act of 1973, which can’t override the Constitution, says the President of the United States can send US armed forces into action abroad only upon a declaration of war by the Congress, or, in a case of “national emergency created by attack upon the United States, its territories or possessions, or its armed forces.” And, it gives some clarification: 48 hour notification after the fact; withdraw in 60 days, etc. In everyday language, an “attack” on a sovereign nation IS an act of “war.”
Now, Mr. Obama has said many times in recent days that “he has the authority to attack Syria without permission of congress.” He’s merely asking for it to show the rest of the world that we are united in this decision. Pray tell, how do you get that when the law clearly says otherwise? And how do members of Congress support you? Cannot any of you read plain English? Or, are you now a King, and not a President, with the US Constitution null and void?
King Obama, did Syria “attack the United States, our territories or possessions, or our armed forces?” A resounding NO can be heard from 300+ million citizens of these United States. Are US Air Force planes flying over Syria part of our armed forces. By definition – YES. Are US Navy ships in the Mediterranean part of our armed forces? By definition – YES. Is dropping bombs and firing naval guns and missiles an act of war? Abso-damn-lutely. Use of the term “conflict,” or “action,” or “a shot across the bow” or “limited/surgical strike,” is still an act of war and the world knows it. We’re fed up with the Clinton tactic of redefining the word “is.” So why is it you think you have the authority to wage war, declared or otherwise, on another sovereign nation that is not a threat to us and has not attacked us? Let me guess. It’s that “credibility” issue.
Here’s another quote from you: “I didn’t set a red line. The world set a red line. America and the Congress set a red line.” Mr. Obama, the whole world heard you draw the red line about a year ago. Do you actually think we’re that stupid? And “My credibility is not on the line. …America and Congress’ credibility is on the line….” That very statement shoots your credibility to hell all by itself. What you’re doing is preparing to cast blame, again. You’ve spent five years blaming others for all manner of things when you’re THE President; THE Commander In Chief; THE “leader of the free world.” “Leader” – look up the definition. If we do attack Syria, an unconstitutional act on your part, and if unforeseen consequences create far greater problems than exist today, such as Iran retaliating against Israel, or Russia joining Syria in retaliation against the US, or any number of other potential consequences, by making this statement you can cast blame on Congress. You were only following their wishes. YOU take credit for all that goes well, even if others made it happen, and cast blame on someone else when things go badly. “Leaders” don’t do that. Ask President Bush; search the record of President Reagan. But narcissist do. It’s all about them. They walk on water. Can do no wrong.
Other points I’ve read/heard – enjoy: This is a civil war in Syria and none of our business. These are two enemies of the West destroying themselves. That means less of them to worry about in the future. You had a chance to have an impact back early on when the good guys were the opposition before the bad guys took over. You fiddle-farted around and did nothing. Too late now. Our armed forces is tired and under-funded. We have no stomach for more war that doesn’t benefit us. We can’t be policemen to the world. Far too many of our servicemen have died; for what? Obama couldn’t lead a lemonade stand let alone an Army at war. You’re decision-making capability sucks. He’s indecisive, wishy-washy, bumbling. Obama and the rodeo clown should switch jobs. At least America would be better off. The world does not support Obama. America does not support Obama. Obama has become the laughing stock of the world. Credibility? What credibility? He doesn’t inspire confidence. Mr. Obama is weak, dithering, void of a clear policy on anything except socialism and his own self promotion. Nobody has any idea what he wants to do in Syria. HE doesn’t know what he wants to do in Syria. Just another example of Obama leading from behind. Will Obama ever get a backbone? He is the weakest President of my lifetime (age 80). An article, “The Arrogant Audacity Of A Tyrannical President” lists 14 points similar to the above. Another, “2013 Soap Box Archives” ditto. Still another “Calls to Congress 499 to 1 against Syria war.”
Mr. President, I do see one good thing to come out of all this, especially if you do decide to attack Syria without a Declaration of War. It will be yet another reason, another charge, in the impeachment process of “high crimes and misdemeanors” leveled against you by the House as soon as enough pressure is applied to them and they develop sufficient testosterone to file the Articles of Impeachment. Then perhaps all the truth about one Barack Hussein Obama, or Barry Soetoro, or Barry Obama, or Barack Soetoro-Obama-Davis, or whatever your real name is, will finally come to light. Maybe America can then move forward toward our real exceptionalism.
And a note to all those RINOs in Congress, specifically McConnell, McCain, Graham, Boehner and Cantor – You can be impeached too. You five stooges, who can’t seem to read/understand the Constitution that for decades now you have sworn an oath to uphold, can be impeached just as easily as Obama. All of you are on the wrong side of the Constitution and We The People who are tired of it.
And, if the conniving, dishonest, misleading King Obama is merely using Syria as a distraction for the ongoing corruption and cover ups of Fast and Furious, Benghazi, the IRS, the NSA, DOJ, etc., it won’t work. We’re not as distracted as you think we are. We won’t let up on those issues. We just add one more to the growing list of impeachment articles.
Lastly, we just celebrated the 50th anniversary of Dr. King’s March on Washington and his speech at the Lincoln Memorial. On January 20, 2009, Dr. King was no doubt looking down on America and was proud that we had elected our first black president. We had finally moved into the post-segregation, post-racist era in America. Dr. King is looking down today in disgust at the evil you have wrought on our country. Were he still with us, he would not be pleased at your presidency, your lack of honor, your ineptitude, your lack of moral character or the racist divide you have created in America. You undo all he stood for and fought for. He would not be proud of our first black president. Out of tens-of-thousands of black people who could have been the first black president, and bestow honor to the office, America picked you, a two-bit flimflam racist. "Lord, what have we done?“
God Bless America, again.
