Another Mulligan?

How many mulligan’ do you get in golf round? I have only played three rounds in all my 54 years, so I couldn’t definitely say. But since our CINC is such an avid golfer I think it is apropos to use the analogy.

Let’s see, shall we look at the first or second round the President played? The first had only one big penalty, Fast and Furious, no one other than a whistle blower and the gunman who murdered Agent Terry has really been punished as far as I know. Ok, so only one in that round, but in the pros, there are no mulligans allowed period. And wouldn’t you agree we could call this the professional tour, tournament play? Let’s move on to the second round. I will lists the second term penalties on a scale from worst to the less worst.

  1. Benghazi. Too many things to even begin to be brief.

  2. AP: The Justice Department seized telephone records of journalists, citing national security concerns.

  3. IRS. The office of the IRS that oversees tax-exempt targeted certain conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status.

  4. NSA. Edward Snowden, enough said.

  5. The roll out of the ACA, rhymes with caca, if you’re wondering about how to say the acronym.

Five mulligans in one round, it sounds like the last round I played in 2009. My wife’s brother in law and I played a round and I must have hit a mulligan on every hole.

But I am not a pro. When I was a pro, US Army, I was on my game. If I delegated a task to a subordinate, I followed up on it up and until it was complete. Not micro managed it by any means, just questions at key times during the task’s life to make sure it was where it was suppose to be. Milestones, levels, steps, whatever you call them, every task has them, or should. That is if you want to keep track of its status. So what happened in all these cases? I know what didn’t happen, and that is where something called the 7 P’s comes in. I learned it in the Army and it can be used in anytime to have some project that needs to be done, Proper Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance. I actually added the “proper” part because that does count. That’s it, oh yeah, and a big L after it for leadership. Which is seriously lacking in this president. Even in a golf game a pro plans his round, he looks at the course, maybe watches films of prior rounds, but he looks at it as a whole at first, but then he still has to play each hole. This president thinks he can just give some orders and presto, the task will be completed to perfection. How could anything go wrong, they tell him he is very smart.

So if we score this last round, which isn’t even over yet, it would be bad, way over par bad.

So needless to say, but here we are we are stating the obvious, you are not a pro. Just a man with a silver tongue and hollow promises, that’s what got us where we are today, add your own favorite dismal statistic.

So Mr. President, stop playing golf with this country, this isn’t a game. Lead, follow or get the heck out of the way.
