Krauthammer Wrong on GOP Winning
Fox News political commentator Charles Krauthammer should keep his eye upon the donut and not upon the hole, that Republicans must win control of Government in order to effect change. “Winning isn’t everything; it’s the only thing,” a quote often wrongly attributed to Green Bay football coach Vince Lombardi, who probably heard the phrase from UCLA coach Henry Russell Sanders.
Politicians place winning above ethics and morality as the only thing; as they advocate that the only way to overcome the negative impact of the dominant political party is to do the very same thing opponents do to achieve and retain power.
Krauthammer is right on his political take most of the time as when he says, “It’s remarkable how the president discovers stuff late into his presidency. Remember at the beginning he spends a near $Trillion on the stimulus, and then discovers afterward that shovel-ready really doesn’t exist. And then he told us just a few days ago he discovered how, you know, that purchasing health insurance is not easy… And now he tells us he’s discovering that this issue of adverse selection in the absence of young people who will subsidize the older and the sicker is a real issue. It’s been the problem at the heart of this all along. Why would a young person want to subsidize older people by having their premiums double, which is exactly what ObamaCare does.”
Which Krauthammer should Republicans abide? A house built on sand cannot stand but a house built on rock will defy the elements. Delay, defund, repeal ObamaCare have proven to be a mirage. Despite all the talk, GOP House Speaker John Boehner, as usual, advances the agenda of arch-opponent, but blood-brother Obama. Republicans should let ObamaCare Democrats choke on their own vomit, and Do Nothing to give ObamaCare new life; but they did give ObamaCare new life, more than once.
The battle has been unexpectedly lost by Obama himself and his PERIOD… PERIOD… PERIOD… Republicans must do nothing to bail the uncompromising one out. NOW, but too late, Obama wants GOP compromise. It is too late to compromise when Obama is in self-created political hell.
Both political sides and now the media and public know ObamaCare can never work, and Obama knew it from the beginning, but now that it is in permanent Limbo, Obama wants to go on to Immigration, foreign affairs, and a host of other issues that would likewise be doomed to the failure of Joe Btfsplk, the world’s worst jinx. A small, dark rain cloud perpetually hovers over his head to symbolize his bad luck. Though Obama came into the presidency under the brightest sun, he stumbles through the darkest storm clouds of his own making. Barack Btfsplk Obama has proven himself to be a serial liar who cannot be trusted in anything he says or does.
Krauthammer is wrong when he agrees that Republicans should, and did pass the two-year budget plan on a bipartisan 332-94 vote, saying that if they did not, and once again partially shut down Government, the GOP would be blamed for any negative consequences.
That conundrum in effect says it is better to not do the right thing; otherwise the GOP is blamed for being true patriots and doing the right thing for the country, rather than doing the wrong thing for the country because it is better for the Party. Patriots are never concerned for themselves as they battle the political elements. As far as the GOP is concerned, the party, political and otherwise, is over, the demise due to the fatal disease of incumbency.
Krauthammer, with this strategy, hands a political plum to arch-opponent Barack Obama who is already hanging on the political ropes, giving him yet again one more new life. Speaker John Boehner went postal and apoplectic with his explosive criticism of his Republican Tea Party members who balked at the whole idea of the two-year budget plan.
Republican Congressman and presidential wannabe Paul Ryan was ecstatic in praise of Democrat contemporary Patty Murray, and one of the chief negotiators, Ryan said, “It will stop Washington’s lurch from crisis to crisis,” not coincidentally, the only protection America has from profligate spending routinely authorized by Congress.
Comic book 1970s character Joe “Btfsplk” appeared in Al Cap’s “Li'l Abner” and is well meaning but the world’s worst jinx, bringing disastrous misfortune to everyone around him. A small, dark rain cloud perpetually hovers over his head to symbolize his bad luck.
Obama must have channeled Btfsplk with his own version of bad luck, as every initiative he touches seems to go awry and turn into yet one more scandal. Obama squandered his legacy in pursuit of the failing European style socialist agenda, but resorts to more variations and lying explanations of the lies that got him into trouble, figuring that somewhere in those new lies will be the cure, and he can yet shift the blame to the media, House Republicans, yet one more time to previous President George W. Bush, and of all things, RACISM.
Oprah Winfrey, the richest Black woman in America with a Net Worth in excess of $2.5 Billion, joined the Obama racist fray when during a BBC interview, accused Obama critics of racism and hatefully said, “Obama’s critics are racists, and all racists must die. There are still generations of people, older people, who were born and bred and marinated in it, in that prejudice and racism, and They just have to die.”
Oprah showed her Al Sharpton side by exposing her own vile racism, and though there is and probably always be some racism, Oprah made a quantum leap against White racism that proved the prevalent Black racism. Oprah and the 13% Black community gave up to 95% of their vote to Barack Obama, meaning that Black votes of less than 12% could not possibly elect a Black President without help of nearly half of Whites who voted for Black Obama.
Be careful of making accusations that will boomerang against the accuser. Oprah should be ashamed; especially that she could not become the richest Black woman in America without her tremendous, adoring White audience. And like all cowards, Oprah made her accusations in the presumed safety out of the country, but not outside the realm of everything being taped and recorded.
