No Fear!
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts.” –Winston Churchill
I know we always think that the polar opposite of love is hate but I have come to believe differently.
I think the emotion that can keep love from landing is fear.
If you have ever loved anything, then you have been hurt. I don’t care if it was an inanimate object; losing anything hurts and nothing stays frozen in time and place for us.
It can make you want to assume the fetal position and never hurt that way EVER AGAIN!
But you can’t live, really LIVE, like that.
I like to think of life a little bit like being a skater in Roller Derby. Sometimes you’re the Jammer and sometimes you’re the one going backwards into the rail. Life can be a bit fast-paced, and it is not rare to get an elbow to the ribs or have someone come crowding into your space. Tighten up your helmet and get back out there! There is a great big wide world out there with lots to do and lots to see and so many wonderful people in it. Elbow pads on, knee pads in place, chin-strap tightened, and GO!
More than any other command, God tells us to FEAR NOT!
I believe it is the anti-love so let’s knock fear on its keister and get to jamming!
1 John 4:18 New International Version (NIV): “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”
