Things That Make You Go Hmm…
Let’s be happy about the results of the 2024 election, but let’s never take our eye off the ball again.
Greetings, everyone! What a difference a week makes, huh? The delusional meltdown that we are witnessing from the progressive socialist leftists is disturbing yet entertaining. Now, perhaps some of you recognize the title of this missive from a 90s dance song by C+C Music Factory. Now, I am not one who gets into conspiracy theories, but as a former commander in a combat unit, we are taught to assess and analyze trends, indicators, and warnings. That is necessary for success on the battlefield, and needless to say, we are on a political battlefield in America.
President-Elect Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 presidential election was monumental and indeed points the way to a shift in American electoral politics. All one has to do is look at the map above, the 2024 presidential election map by county and witness a massive tectonic change. It is very clear to see the isolation of leftism in America. Even to see what happened in California, truly leftism is confined to the “coastal elites.” Look at States like Oregon and Washington. All across America, we saw county after county shift Red. Here in Texas, 12 of 14 border Counties went red, and 25 of 26 judicial positions in courts of appeals went to Republicans.
But there are some numbers that we should explore as a Constitutional Republic that underlie what has happened in America. Let’s go back to 2008, sixteen years ago, when modern American progressive socialism burst onto the scene by way of one Barack Hussein Obama. In 2008, Obama resoundingly defeated John McCain with 69.4M votes, which translated into a 9.5M vote differential and 365 electoral votes. Obama came back in 2012 and defeated Mitt Romney with 65M votes, which translated into a 5M vote differential and 332 electoral votes.
The leftists were riding high and then nominated one Hillary Clinton as their presidential candidate in 2016. She would go up against a political newcomer by the name of Donald J. Trump. In the end, Hillary Clinton would win the popular vote with 65.7M to Trump’s 62.9M but she would lose the electoral college to Trump by 306 to 232. Yes, the urban population and coastal elites turned out for Ms. Clinton, but she did not garner those critical states that would have led to her winning the electoral college.
Next came Joe Biden against Donald Trump in 2020, the year of Covid. And we all recall the famous line from one Rahm Emanuel, “Never let a good crisis go to waste.” We became familiar with a new phenomenon, unsolicited mail-in ballots, yes, massive mailings of ballots against voter rolls that had more often than not been properly validated. The result of the 2020 election was Joe Biden getting 81M votes to Trump’s 74M and winning the electoral college with 306, the same number that Trump had achieved in 2016. What has to be somewhat troubling is how the Democrats went from 69.4M votes in 2008 with Obama and 365 electoral votes, to 81M votes, in 12 years. Democrats had seen voting numbers from 2008 (69.4), 2012 (65M), and then 2016 (65.7) all of a sudden jump to 81M?
Things that make you go, hmm…
In the 2024 election, Donald Trump would increase his 2020 number of votes from 74M to 75M and attain 312 electoral votes—an almost a 100 electoral vote improvement. Kamala Harris would only get 71M votes, which resulted in some 232 electoral votes. Now, please, someone explain the me a 10M vote drop for Democrats from 2020 to 2024? Harris’s 71M votes are just above Obama’s all-time high of 69.4M in 2008.
In 2020 Donald Trump only won Texas by 6%. In 2024, he won Texas by almost 15%.
Things that make you go, hmm…
Another interesting factoid is that in States Kamala Harris won, well, those States do not have voter ID requirements. A big thing that makes you go, hmm…
I am just looking at numbers and trends, and it truly appears that 2020 was an anomaly or something else. But I am quite grateful that the left won in 2020 because we would have never known just how crazed and delusional they were…now we do, and America rejected it.
Numbers don’t lie…but progressive socialists and Marxists do!
Let’s be happy about the results of the 2024 election, but let’s never take our eye off the ball again, especially when it comes to election integrity.
Steadfast and Loyal.
