Muslim Terror Is NOT on the Run

In the past two months, two horrific terrorist attacks have been perpetrated by Muslims. Obviously the killing of 3 and wounding of 270 people in Boston, as well as the beheading of a British solider in broad daylight in London are despicable occurrences. The only thing more despicable has been the willful denial of Barack Obama and David Cameron, both of whom are so infatuated with the odious concept of political correctness, they would seemingly countenance cultural suicide to preserve it.

Shortly after the Boston attack, Obama had this to say. “They failed because the people of Boston refused to be intimidated,” he insisted. “They failed because, as Americans, we refused to be terrorized.” I have taken issue with this alternative reality in a pervious column. Suffice it this time to say if the widespread carnage perpetrated on April 15 was a failure, one is left to ponder what constitutes a success in the president’s opinion.

Yet there is a subtle message here that cannot be ignored, and once again it is all about how this attack affected the president. In the ideological bubble where the president resides this attack must be labeled a failure, or that bubble pops, along with every aspect of Obama’s “Muslim outreach” initiatives.

Thus, as sure as night follows day, the president reminded Americans what his highest priority truly is. “One of the things that makes America the greatest nation on Earth … is that we welcome people from all around the world – people of every faith, every ethnicity, from every corner of the globe,” he lectured. “So as we continue to learn more about why and how this tragedy happened, let’s make sure that we sustain that spirit.”

Let me tell you why this tragedy happened. It’s because we welcome all kinds of people “from every corner of the globe” – including those who have no interest whatsoever in assimilation, those whose ultimate intention is to exploit America’s safety net to the fullest, and those who utterly despise us. And if a thoroughly corrupt Democrat party in collusion with a terminally clueless Republican party manages to ram “comprehensive immigration reform” through Congress, you can add millions upon millions of people with no respect for the rule of law to the list as well.

David Cameron, along with Britain’s progressive elites, is just as bad. Cameron called the beheading of a British soldier a “shocking” attack “not just an attack on Britain” but “also a betrayal of Islam – and of the Muslim communities who are giving so much to our country.” He then demonstrated the kind of PC-inspired ignorance that inevitably accompanies these atrocities. “There is nothing in Islam that justifies this truly dreadful act,” he said.

Really? How about these tidbits, courtesy of the Quran:

• “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of thee.” (8:12)

• “Slay them where ye find them and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for the persecution of Muslims is worse than the slaughter of the believers … fight them until the persecution is no more, and the religion is for Allah.” (2:191)

Not enough? How about this, courtesy of the killer: “But we are forced by the Quran in Sura at-Tauba, through many, many ayah throughout the Koran that we must fight them as they fight us, a eye for a eye and a tooth for a tooth.”

The bet here is this is the first time most people are seeing this part of the killer’s rant, because most, if not all, mainstream media reports of this atrocity haven’t included the killer’s references to the Quran as his justification for the beheading. Precious few have even bothered to mention these killers stood around doing interviews for twenty minutes before the police showed up.

Shortly after that, though, government forces leaped into the fray. British soldiers were advised not to wear their uniforms, in public and at least four men were arrested for posting incendiary comments about the “religion of peace” on social media sites. Two of them were held under the Public Order Act on suspicion of inciting racial or religious hatred.

“The men were arrested under the Public Order Act on suspicion of inciting racial or religious hatred,” said Detective Inspector Ed Yaxley, of Avon and Somerset Police. “Our inquiries into these comments continue. These comments were directed against a section of our community.

Comments such as these are completely unacceptable and only cause more harm to our community in Bristol. People should stop and think about what they say on social media before making statements as the consequences could be serious.”

Maybe someone’s head could get chopped off.

Now mind you, the progressive elites on both sides of the Atlantic are hardly alone. There are plenty of equally naive people, courtesy of progressive control over public education. It is within the hallowed halls of academia where the poisons of moral equivalency and multiculturalism are promulgated with equal gusto. Thus, there are legions of terminally clueless drones who truly believe that committing cultural suicide is a reasonable tradeoff for a little peace and quiet. For them, it is better to surrender than be left with the question “why do they hate us?” forever unanswered.

The question that never occurs to them? What if surrender isn’t an option?

In a speech on May 23, Obama insisted that we can’t continue prosecuting a “boundless global war” against terror, and that we must attempt to dismantle specific extremist networks. Once again, he reiterated the idea that the war on terror is winding down. Yet he remains remarkably obtuse. “Now, make no mistake, our nation is still threatened by terrorists. From Benghazi to Boston, we have been tragically reminded of that truth,” he insisted. “But we have to recognize that the threat has shifted and evolved from the one that came to our shores on 9/11.”

Shifted and evolved? Note the key word the presidential has yet again willfully omitted: we are threatened overwhelmingly by Muslim terrorists. Furthermore, it is utterly specious logic that posits the threat has shifted and evolved from that which occurred on 9/11, simply because the Islamists have failed to perpetrate another attack of that magnitude – or worse. Do anyone other than progressives seriously believe they’ve “evolved” beyond wanting and trying to do so?

JWR columnist Mark Steyn has given Britain a heads-up regarding their future, noting where the PC-inspired, multi-culti, morally equivalence inevitably leads: “…you barely notice when the Jewish school shuts up, and the gay bar, and the uncovered women no longer take a stroll too late in the day, and the publishing house that gets sent the manuscript for the next Satanic Verses decides it’s not worth the trouble,” he writes.

Overwrought? “One in ten Britons under 25 is now Muslim,” Steyn reveals. “That number will increase, through immigration, disparate birth rates, and conversions like those of the Woolwich killers, British-born and -bred.”

By 2030, the number of Muslims in the United States is expected to double, according to a study entitled “The Future of the Global Muslim Population.” It reveals that the Muslim population has been growing at a faster rate than all other groups combined. “The study does not project Muslims’ religiosity or their politics,” said Alan Cooperman, Pew Forum associate director of research. “People will say, ‘I don’t care how many Muslims there will be, I care how many radical Muslim terrorists there will be.’ But no one knows that.”

Not even Barack Obama or David Cameron.
