Growing Confidence
An increasing number of Republicans on Capitol Hill are impressed with Donald Trump’s performance and confident in his ability to run a competitive campaign. I know Senator Lindsey Graham is not a “fan favorite” among our daily readers. Sen. Graham was also among the most vocal Trump critics in the primaries. But the South Carolina senator appears to be changing his tune.
Here’s what he said [Tuesday]:
“Trump is getting better. You can see a more disciplined message… He’s had massive political body blows that would knock anybody else out. If he can cross the lines in the eyes of the public and be ready for the job, then I think you’re gonna have one hell of a race.”
Even my good friend “The Great One” Mark Levin has come around. [Tuesday] he announced on his radio show, “I’m gonna vote for Donald Trump.”
The polls are coming around too. Seven of the eight most recent national polls find the race is a statistical dead heat. Trump leads in two and the candidates are tied in another.
That is a HUGE improvement from just four weeks ago, when Clinton was leading in every national poll, and in some cases by double-digits.
Which Principles?
Any conservative still on the fence about supporting Donald Trump should read Dennis Prager’s latest column.
Prager says conservatives often tell him that they cannot vote for Trump because of their principles. I have heard similar statements too.
But what Prager and I both want to know is which principles allow conservative voters to enable Hillary Clinton to become president?
As Prager puts it, “We differ on this: We hold that defeating Hillary Clinton, the Democrats, and the Left is also a principle. And that it is the greater principle.”
As to whether America could survive four more years of the Obama/Clinton era, he writes:
“That is not the case today. One side seeks to undo just about every founding principle that made America exceptional. Important examples include small and limited government; preservation of the power of the states to serve as political and social laboratories; a belief in individual responsibility; a society rooted in Judeo-Christian morality – meaning a society composed of people most of whom affirm God and Bible-based moral teachings; and a deep sense of a unifying national American identity and destiny. The Left is successfully undoing every one of those founding principles.”
Sadly, on this point, I am inclined to agree with Dennis — if for no other reason than the obvious fact that the Supreme Court hangs in the balance.
Obama has already fundamentally transformed the nation’s lower appellate courts. This election will decide whether the left takes control of the Supreme Court as well. And control of the high court means more aborted babies and greater erosion of our religious liberty.
Military Leaders Endorse Trump
Eighty-eight retired senior military leaders announced their support for Donald Trump [Tuesday]. Here is a brief excerpt of their endorsement:
“We support Donald Trump and his commitment to rebuild our military, to secure our borders, to defeat our Islamic supremacist adversaries and restore law and order domestically. We urge our fellow Americans to do the same.”
This is a big boost to Trump’s campaign and helps to blunt Hillary Clinton’s main line of attack — that Trump lacks the temperament and judgment to be president.
In stark contrast, Hillary Clinton’s “extremely reckless” handling of our national security secrets and her abysmal record as secretary of state clearly indicate that she does not possess the temperament and judgment to be president.
Speaking Of Hillary’s Judgment…
David Ignatius, The Washington Post’s foreign policy reporter, was on MSNBC [Tuesday] discussing the 2016 campaign. He dismissed “little details about hammers and hard drives on cell phones” and said we should be talking about Hillary’s record.
Challenged to name Hillary’s “accomplishments,” Ignatius struggled and eventually came up with Obama’s pivot to Asia [Translation: his retreat from the Middle East] and — believe it or not — the Iranian nuclear deal, which is empowering Iran to fill the vacuum created in the Middle East by Obama’s pivot to Asia.
By the way, the American people overwhelmingly oppose the Obama/Clinton nuclear deal with Iran. If Hillary wants to run on that “accomplishment,” go ahead, make my day! You’ll notice she almost never talks about it.
And this weekend we saw the fruits of that pivot to Asia. Obama was publicly insulted and received no red carpet greeting in China, the president of the Philippines called his mother “a whore,” Russian President Vladimir Putin stared him down and refused to cooperate on Syria.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was the architect of Obama’s foreign policy. She represents the status quo and more Obama. Four more years of this will be virtually impossible to reverse.
It’s time we had a president the world respects. It’s time to make America great again!
About That Cough…
I’m not a doctor, but I think I’ve figured out what is causing Hillary’s coughing fits: Even she can’t swallow her own lies!
Left-wing Fascism
As some of you may know, the left celebrated Phyllis Schlafly’s death. Go online and you can read all kinds of disgusting comments about this great lady. The day after her death, Eagle Forum’s office, the organization Schlafly founded, was vandalized and spray painted with disgusting epithets.
Just another example of the hatred on the left. Just another example of what Trump donors in Minneapolis and Trump supporters in California experienced recently.
Yes, there is fascism in America, but it is coming from the left.
