Common Nonsense: The COVID Pandemic
The “reaction” to COVID has been a collection of harmful public policies, public hysteria, public bullying, and intentional misinformation.
By D. Lee Paine
“We choose truth over facts.” —Presidential Candidate Joe Biden
“We follow the science.” —President Joe Biden
Both of these statements cannot be true.
Science is dependent on “facts” that may be independently verified by other scientists. Truth is dependent on facts. “Truth” devoid of facts is uninformed opinion, speculation, rumor, or worse.
Here are a few truths that are supported by science, medicine, and facts:
Masks cannot block virus exposure. If masks worked, the COVID pandemic would be over.
Masks chronically worn by healthy individuals may be harmful psychologically and physically.
mRNA “vaccines” have never been approved prior to COVID. If the mRNA medicines used as “vaccines” worked, the COVID pandemic would be over.
The number of COVID-related deaths is overstated. Dying “with” COVID is not medically the same as dying “of” COVID.
Virologists estimate humans cohabit the planet Earth with over 3,000,000 different viruses; human immune systems have protected humans from viruses since the beginning of mankind.
Natural immunity from a viral infection is superior to vaccines, and especially superior to the mRNA medicine currently being administered as evidenced by the need for repeated injections.
Viruses infecting humans always mutate to less harmful variants. If viruses mutated to more lethal agents, researchers would not conduct “gain of function” research; they would just grow viruses in the laboratory and let them evolve to become more lethal.
No virus has ever been tracked and reported in the worldwide population as has the COVID virus; thus, every variant allows many individuals who are ignorant of science and medicine to over-react to the announcement of every new variant identified.
Individuals who are not in a risk population demographic should not wear masks or take the mRNA medication being used as a vaccine.
Prior to COVID, none of us have ever consulted Hollywood stars, news media personalities, elected officials, professional athletes, etc. to recommend which medication we may need to use for our individual medical treatment.
The doctor-patient relationship, prior to COVID, has been sacred for thousands of years and essential to determining optimal individual medical care.
Too often the reaction to the COVID virus has not followed science, medicine, or common sense.
The “reaction” to COVID has been a collection of harmful public policies, public hysteria, public bullying, and intentional misinformation that can only be described as “Common Nonsense.” May we soon restore common sense to the public discussion of science and medicine and abandon Common Nonsense as the new virtuous characteristic.
