Rep. Lee Zeldin, the Republican nominee for governor of New York, was attacked in broad daylight during a campaign event Thursday. Thankfully, a number of people in the audience quickly jumped into action and tackled the attacker. Rep. Zeldin was unharmed, and was able to finish his remarks.

Predictably, the assailant, who was charged with felony assault, was released within hours and without bond, which is increasingly becoming the norm in liberal states like New York.

Now here’s an odd “coincidence.” Just hours before the attack took place, Zeldin’s opponent, Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul, had urged her supporters to show up at Zeldin’s events.

This incident summarizes everything that’s wrong with the left today. But more importantly, it tells us what they are willing to do to maintain power.

While conservatives get up in the morning restraining themselves, wanting to be polite and respectful ladies and gentlemen, everything is on the table for the left. Conservatives who have an edge get called out by the media and their own “leaders.”

But how can you have too much of an edge when dealing with those who attack our history, attack our country, attack our values and routinely deploy and encourage violence?

As we noted yesterday, the left deployed its stormtroopers in 2020 turning dozens of cities into war zones. Innocent people were killed. Businesses struggling to survive COVID were destroyed.

Leftist stormtroopers surrounded the White House for days. More than 60 Secret Service agents were injured during the brutal fighting. There are reports that Trump had to be taken to a secure room in the White House bunker.

Liberal pundits and commentators said nothing about the left’s “insurrection” or the left’s “assault on democracy” then. But a four-hour protest that got out of control on Capitol Hill is “a threat to democracy.”

The Lying Left

The left’s whole strategy is based on telling lies over and over again.

The Charlottesville lie.

Russia collusion hoax.

Antifa is a myth.

The border is secure.

I have a plan to fight COVID.

If you take the vaccines you won’t get COVID.

Voter integrity legislation is Jim Crow 2.0.

Republicans will put black Americans back in chains.

The planet is going to burn up in 12 years.

I could go on for pages listing all the lies of the left that are intended to divide America and inspire hatred against conservatives and Middle Americans.

Now here’s the obvious question: Why would any Republican official, any conservative leader or any conservative voter say to themselves, “Well, I like what Trump did but there’s no evidence of cheating in the election”?

We’re supposed to trust a party and a movement that is doing all the things I just outlined to not stuff ballot boxes and break election laws?

Of course, they cheated! That’s what they do!

Of course, they’re lying about the election! That’s what they do!

Of course, they’ll deploy violence if they don’t get their way! That’s what they do!

My friends, we must stand up and defend our values.

Thursday Night’s Lie

Friday morning, the front pages of the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post and I’m sure many other newspapers across America all carried headlines to the effect of “Trump Refused To Condemn/Call Off Capitol Rioters.”

That was essentially the big lie of Thursday night’s prime time Pelosi Show, meant to reinforce the idea that the president was leading an “insurrection.”

Again, let me remind you that these are not legitimate congressional hearings. They are political theater literally produced by a former corporate media executive who covered up for Jeffrey Epstein. That tells you everything you need to know!

Well, here’s the truth.

Within 23 minutes of the first reports of protesters entering the Capitol, President Trump tweeted:

“Please support our Capitol Police and Law Enforcement. They are truly on the side of our Country. Stay peaceful!”

Does that sound like a call for “insurrection”?

Thirty minutes later, Trump tweeted:

“I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order — respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!”

Two hours after protesters entered the Capitol, President Trump posted a video on Twitter. Here’s an excerpt of what he said:

“You have to go home now. We have to have peace, we have to have law and order, we have to respect our great people in law and order. We don’t want anybody hurt…

"This was a fraudulent election, but we can’t play into the hands of these people. We have to have peace. So go home… I know how you feel, but go home, and go home in peace.”

But at this point, Twitter had locked the president’s account.

So, when Trump did exactly what Democrats and the left are all saying he refused to do, Twitter took it down. What does that tell you? Was the president being set up?

A few weeks ago, the Pelosi Show told us that Trump assaulted a Secret Service agent and tried to take control of a vehicle. It was yet another lie. But that lie was cited as evidence that Trump wanted to lead the “insurrection.”

Think about that. They’re suggesting the president wanted to lead the charge against Congress.

Seriously? It makes no sense!

Trump wanted to go to Capitol Hill to make sure things remained peaceful, to ensure that there was no violence, which is exactly what he said repeatedly on January 6th.

• The Supreme Court blocked an effort by the Biden Administration to further handcuff ICE agents attempting to enforce our immigration laws.

• A federal judge blocked the Biden Administration’s efforts to force radical transgender policies on states and school districts.

• School officials in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, voted to protect girls’ sports from biological boys claiming to be girls.

• Liberal officials in Washington, D.C., are whining that they are being overwhelmed as 150 buses from Arizona and Texas have transported nearly 6,000 illegal aliens to the nation’s capital.

• Second-degree murder charges were dropped against the New York City bodega worker who clearly acted in self-defense.

• The new San Francisco district attorney has fired more than a dozen staffers after taking over from recalled left-wing Soros puppet Chesa Boudin.

• Dr. Anthony Fauci is retiring! Granted, it’s not soon enough, but at least we have a date certain, assuming he isn’t impeached or indicted first!

• For the first time in history, registered Republicans outnumber registered Democrats in the state of Kentucky.
