Biden’s Priority
“The first bill that I will send to the Congress will be to codify Roe v. Wade.”
Messaging is very important in politics, as all the experts tell us. Every politician wants voters to know exactly what their priorities are. They often express those priorities by telling voters, “Elect me and the first thing I’ll do is [fill in the blank].”
So, with just three weeks left in the midterm elections and with early voting already underway in many key states, Biden set out Tuesday to tell voters exactly what his top priority is.
Here’s the gist of Biden’s message: “Elect more Democrats so we can kill more babies!”
I know — it sounds so absurd and extreme. Some of you are probably thinking, “Oh, come on, Gary! Don’t be so partisan.” Some of you probably thought the “Party of Death” item in yesterday’s report was an exaggeration, too. Think again.
Here’s an ABC News headline about Biden’s remarks: “Biden Vows Abortion Legislation As Top Priority Next Year.”
Crazy, right? Well, if you still think the left-wing media got it wrong, you can read it for yourself at the White House website. Just to be completely fair, I’ll quote Biden directly:
“In these midterm elections, it’s so critical to elect more Democratic senators to the United States Senate and more Democrats to keep control of the House of Representatives. And, folks, if we do that, here is the promise I make to you and the American people: The first bill that I will send to the Congress will be to codify Roe v. Wade.”
It couldn’t be clearer than that.
Biden’s top priority is abortion. And he is promising that if more Democrats are elected, the first thing they’ll do is ensure that more babies are killed.
Biden Doesn’t Care About You
As I noted in Monday’s report, the polling is clear: Voters are most concerned about inflation, the economy and immigration.
But Biden doesn’t care about inflation … because he caused it.
He doesn’t care about your pain at the pump … because he caused it.
He doesn’t care about the devastating impact of record illegal immigration … because his open borders policies caused it.
He’s not talking about the supply chain crisis, the baby formula shortage or surging crime rates.
No, his top priority is making it easier to destroy more innocent children.
He’s Lying, Too
Not only is Biden obsessed with abortion, but he’s lying to you — again. So are most Democrats. They’re saying they want to codify Roe v. Wade. That’s not what they’re really trying to do.
Roe v. Wade, as bad as it was, still allowed for limited restrictions on abortion. Under Roe, states could and did prohibit taxpayer funding of abortions. Under Roe, states could and did impose other restrictions like parental notification laws.
Under Roe, states could and did limit abortions late in pregnancy and after “viability,” which, historically, has been around 24 weeks or the end of the second trimester.
The law Biden says is his number one priority, and which Democrats passed in the House, is the most extreme, pro-abortion legislation ever introduced.
It would not allow any limit on abortion at all. It would legalize abortion on demand throughout all nine months of pregnancy in all 50 states. It would wipe out every pro-life state law, and force every taxpayer to subsidize abortions.
It doesn’t just codify Roe, it goes well beyond Roe v. Wade. That’s why even “pro-choice” senators, like Joe Manchin, refused to support it.
Biden’s pro-abortion extremism, which he is attempting to force on the entire country, is extremely unpopular. Only a radical fringe — fewer than 10% of the American people — support abortion without any limits.
And just when you think Democrats couldn’t get any more extreme, along comes Stacey Abrams with her solution for reducing inflation!
“Abortion is an economic issue… Having children is why you’re worried about your price for gas,” Abrams said. “It’s why you’re concerned about how much food costs.”
Unbelievable!
I am pleased to report that the Democrats’ pro-abortion extremism is starting to become a problem for them. During their debate Tuesday night, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio hammered Democrat Val Demings for her pro-abortion views.
Republican candidates in Arizona and Ohio have also aggressively exposed their Democrat opponents as the real abortion extremists.
And, Tuesday, a top White House official was repeatedly pressed about Biden’s “extreme position” of abortion on demand with no limits at all. This surprising interview took place not on Fox News, but on MSNBC of all places!
Be Not Afraid
I want to contrast Biden’s dark message with that of Mark Houck, a pro-life activist who was arrested during an early morning FBI raid on his house. Houck recently spoke at a pro-life event in Boston. Here’s what he said about the persecution he and his family are experiencing right now:
“First of all, be not afraid. What’s happening to me is a good thing… When they come after you and they persecute you, you know you’re in the will of God. And my wife and my children, my seven babies, we have great trust in the Lord.
"So be not afraid. Stand in the gap… We have people in Uganda and Europe praying [for us]. We have people all over the world praying. We have people in Boston praying. We are very encouraged by that.”
Houck isn’t the only one speaking out. Herb Geraghty was one of ten other pro-life activists recently indicted by the Biden Justice Department. He warned against the weaponization of law enforcement, what some might describe as a “semi-fascist police state,” saying:
“What we’re talking about here is nonviolent pro-life activity. This is something that people should care about because it’s showing an abuse of power from the Biden Administration targeting many peaceful pro-life activists.
"For me, the anti-abortion cause is not something that’s religious. I’m an atheist… I work with the Progressive Antiabortion Uprising. Many people believe abortion should be illegal and it should not be normalized to have this mass industrialized slaughter of unborn human beings.”
Durham Isn’t Done
A northern Virginia jury Tuesday, unfortunately, acquitted Igor Danchenko, who lied to the FBI about the Steele dossier and the Russia collusion hoax. This is the second high-profile trial Special Counsel John Durham has lost, and likely signals the end of his investigation. But he’s not done yet.
There is a silver lining here. It’s not satisfying, but it’s something.
When you look at what Durham accomplished in the course of his investigation, from the guilty plea of a former FBI lawyer to his two trials, he has outlined the evidence of serious corruption within the FBI.
A central pillar of Durham’s mandate is to issue a final report on what he discovered, and what we already know is a damning indictment of the FBI.
I fully expect the Durham report will be explosive. Not surprisingly, some Democrats are already trying to quash the report.
But it will provide the basis for serious oversight investigations by the new Republican Congress. And, two years from now, it will provide a blueprint for a new Republican president to clean out the political corruption that has consumed the FBI.
