Cop-Killer Remains Free in Cuba
In normalizing relations with Cuba, Barack Obama asked for almost nothing in return. He should have demanded the extradition of convicted cop-killer JoAnne Chesimard, also known as Assata Shakur. The Washington Times recalls, “A onetime member of the Black Panther Party and Black Liberation Army, with a long rap sheet of violent incidents, she was arrested and convicted for the murder of New Jersey State Trooper Werner Foerster in 1973. While serving a life sentence, the onetime JoAnne Chesimard escaped from prison in 1979 and eventually fled to Cuba. Fidel Castro, perhaps to give the United States a poke in the eye with a dirty stick, granted her political asylum in 1984.” The FBI has posted a $1,000,000 reward, but Cuba has no intention of returning her to the United States. That means a convicted cop-killer remains walking free on the streets of Cuba at a time when Obama is decrying white police officers shooting black assailants. Just another day under the Obama regime.
