Man Threatens Woman, Hillary Clinton Laughs
Can we hold politicians responsible for what someone else says?
Republicans (Donald Trump and John McCain come to mind) have been hung out to dry for their responses to town hall forum questions, but Hillary Clinton glides by for her response to a comment during a Tuesday event. “My division is making money. I get laid off. There’s 20,000 of us. We get laid off,” said a former Hewlett-Packard employee who got the axe when Carly Fiorina was CEO. All the while, Clinton nodded along and made vaguely humanoid facial expressions. “Every time I see her on TV,” the man continued, referring to Fiorina, “I want to reach through and strangle her.” Clinton and the rest of the room erupted in laughter. Last week, Fiorina didn’t correct a town hall attendee who called Barack Obama a “black Muslim,” which prompted a critical write up at ABC News. If it weren’t for double standards, the Leftmedia wouldn’t have any. The question is, can we honestly hold politicians responsible for what someone says at one of their town hall meetings? Someone told Fiorina that Obama is a black Muslim. What is the appropriate response to such a situation? Ideally, a politician would stop the discourse and uphold the values of fair and honest debate by insisting his or her supporters treat the opposition with respect. But reality is far from the ideal. Agreeing by laughing along isn’t an adequate response — especially when a man threatens a woman during the Democrats’ so called “war on women.”
