Does Obama Really Care About Black People?

With Louisiana under water, it’s fair to at least ask the question.

After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, then Sen. Barack Obama condemned President Bush because he toured the widespread damage from the air, and “only saw the people from the window of an airplane rather than down on the ground.” Leftist rapper Kanye West famously declared, “George Bush doesn’t care about black people.” Is the same true of Obama, who ripped Bush for “unconscionable ineptitude” in 2005?

This week, Louisiana is under water again. Thirteen people are dead and more than 100,000 have been displaced. But since the rains began, Obama has been living it up on Martha’s Vineyard, vacationing with the rich and famous, though he did interrupt his golf game to say he would take time for an obligatory appearance in Louisiana next week. Then it was off to a $34,000 a plate fundraiser for Hillary Clinton. Recall that in 2014 he was caught yukking it up on the links just minutes after denouncing the Islamic State beheading of journalist James Foley. He was caught doing the same thing a year later after video was released of the Islamic State beheading 21 Egyptian Christians.

And speaking of Clinton, commentator Rod Dreher writes, “Hillary devoted three times the number of tweets to congratulating US women athletes at the Rio games [than consoling flood victims].”
