President Trump’s trade advisor, Peter Navarro, sent a memo on January 29 that, in hindsight, seems prophetic about the COVID-19 pandemic. He sent another on February 23, but it’s not clear if the president saw either one, because West Wingers marginalized Navarro for his anti-China bias. Can we trust any of these people to set aside their craven ambition and turf wars to protect our health and lives?
