Patriots,
As publisher of The Patriot Post, I am responsible for ensuring that our mission and operations, and the Grassroots Americans we serve, are not exposed to undue risk. In light of significant threats to our organization, I have determined that it is necessary to discontinue providing access to the Disqus reader comments platform through our website. I have not made this decision lightly, nor without considerable discussion with our team.
We have no control over this platform, and insufficient assurance of the privacy of those using it. Additionally, we have concerns about the risk posed by leftist "trolls" intentionally advocating racist views or violent actions in their posts, which then inaccurately portray the view of our readership and organization. Our Patriot Post team is and always has been very lean, so we have limited capacity to moderate and remove offensive content.
We realize the Disqus platform has become a venue for thoughtful and spirited debate among some of our readers, and we regret the circumstances that have made this decision necessary. We are in the process of determining an alternative for reader comments that will better ensure moderation, and we will update this post as soon as we have a solution.
In the interim, if you have comments or suggestions, you can send those to me through this link.
