Re: More and Worse Hurricanes? Nope

“The main reason the climate alarmists are thinking climate change is getting worse is that weather reporting is getting a lot more accurate. How many weather satellites were there in the 1950s and ‘60s when most of the oldest among us were kids or teenagers? Very few. How much lead time did they get on hurricanes 50, 100, or 150 years ago to hunker down before a hurricane would come ashore? Very little. Once storm clouds were seen on the horizon, it was a very short time to buckle down. Now we have reporters on every channel reporting on evacuations or standing on the beach in the eye of the hurricane. It is more information overload than it is hurricanes getting worse, as we hear about them more often for longer periods of time.” —Illinois

“The types of climate disasters have not changed for tens of thousands of years. What has changed is human behavior. There are more people, and events that would affect hundreds of people now affect thousands. Humans are naturally drawn to seashores, scenic wooded areas, and other locations that offer beauty and comfort but also the potential for weather activity at adverse levels. The idea that people can change climate to be more benign through their own activities is simply unrealistic and contrary to nature, physics, and meteorology.” —Kentucky

“Somebody should force the judge to define 'navigable waters.’ Do a quick Google map search of the Rio Grande River. Hundreds of miles downstream from Eagle Pass, you can’t even drive a personal motor boat up the river. Closer to Eagle Pass, you can’t even do it in a canoe. Using the Army Corpse of Engineers definition, the river is not a navigable waterway as far upstream as Eagle Pass. Come on, Texas; slap some sense into this judge. In the meantime, tell him to pound sand.” —Florida

“It takes a special kind of idiot to declare that the reason they are doing great is that they reduced the price of gas $1.20/gal after first raising it over $2.60/gal (at its peak). I’ll believe them when they really try to reduce the price, which could be done by simply doing one thing: admit they were wrong on oil, open up all drilling land for exploration and drilling, and restart all pipeline projects. With this incentive, I am sure gas would drop instantly, and OPEC would have to increase pumping in the short term.” —Illinois

“‘Democrats and the Biden administration argue that Tuberville’s stand is threatening national defense by impacting military readiness.’ Yes, because everybody knows that an army marches on its ability to murder babies. Thank God for Senator Tuberville, not only for his morals, but for his understanding that the president and his cohorts don’t get to do an end run around the Constitution every time they don’t get their way. “This article is spot-on accurate. As I read what Mr. Andrews wrote, I thought he captured precisely what I and most of my friends believe. Conservatism and populism can, and should, coexist. Marrying love of country to conservatism is as good as it gets. As a nation, we would be more fiscally responsible, value life, work hard to not repeat past failures, insist on an immigration strategy that includes strong borders, reduce the size and scope of government, elect leaders that have America’s best interests at heart, support a strong military, and strengthen all families. To do all this would require that, as a nation, we move our moral compass back toward God instead of away from Him as we have been doing for the past 70 years.” —North Carolina
