Re: Gun Grabbers Get an Office

“We are seeing a government using fear as a tool to impose on our constitutional rights. First it was the emergency mandates related to COVID. (Please note that big businesses were NOT shut down, just schools and churches and small businesses.) Then the attack on personal commentary with censorship and the weaponizing of the FBI, ATF, and other DOJ agencies. (More lying.) Now we find scapegoats for gun deaths while illegal immigration is providing dangerous drugs and thousands of drug deaths. Gun control does NOT prevent gun deaths; criminals do not buy guns. Government should fear the voters, not the voter fearing the government.” —Washington

“I was relieved to hear that VP Harris has been appointed head of this new Office of Gun Violence Prevention. I’m sure she will be as inept and/or uninvolved as she has been in her role as Border Czar. Can Biden show more inappropriate timing by announcing this office at the same time his son is indicted for demonstrating the uselessness of the rules already on the books?” —New Hampshire

“Great article, but I was stopped by this one line: ‘…people briefed on the [unconstitutional] action who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss plans that were not yet public.’ So they’re leaking secret info about an illegal act directly to the press. They think it’s OK because they demand they be ‘anonymous.’ They believe they’re doing a good service by doing so. And everyone’s OK with this?” —Virginia

Re: The Government Public Uneducation System

“We recognize the fact that our children are failing in school. So, what are we doing? Nothing to improve learning, but instead dumbing down the system. Meanwhile, survival in our competitive world is becoming more difficult. Who teaches technology? Who is replacing our blue-collar workforce? Who is being prepared to take over the millions of jobs that require knowledge and skill? It will be hard to find a craftsman when few can read, write, or solve math problems. I guess they won’t be called ‘craftsmen’ anymore. Here ‘government’ steps in and makes the problem worse. They lie. Everyone knows they lie, but they accept these ‘facts’ because it comes from the government. Time will tell.” —Washington

“As a retired public school teacher (34 years), I observed and fought this very sad state of education firsthand. I was told no failing grades and that late work was okay. My final year I was challenged by my principal when he asked me: ‘Why do these kids need to know what you are trying to teach them? They can just look it up on their phone.’ Our schools have removed the idea that we all were created by God for his divine purpose and glory. Education is about helping students do that.” —Wisconsin

“In my opinion, we will never fix the education system in the United States until we fix the breakdown of the family caused by the welfare state. This is a systemic issue that has no ties to race, as it affects all. If there is no emphasis placed on learning at home, especially in the younger years, it requires a truly special and rare kid to find success. The other issue I believe the Gates Foundation has helped to promote is the unrealistic idea that every kid needs to attend a college or university. We need to help them become taxpayers by offering more vocational trade classes that will help them become employable and give them hope. If teachers are truly the problem, pay higher wages to attract higher-quality applicants.” —New Hampshire

“With all this EV bovine scatology being rammed down our throats, they are forgetting one factor: Not everyone has access to a charging station for their EV. I live in an apartment with no access to a garage or charging station (not that I would ever consider buying one of those worthless pieces of junk!). Also, in many cities like the one I live in, people who live in houses have no garages and park on the street and also have no access to charging stations. No, Mr. President, your EV plan is a total failure and will not work!” —Indiana

“A century ago enough lawmakers thought Prohibition was a good idea. It was motivated by the real concerns of spouse and child abuse, alcoholism, unproductive dereliction in the workforce, etc. In the end, nobody went thirsty. And now we have organized crime. The same brilliance is being applied to EVs. Does anyone remember being held hostage by OPEC in the 1970s, leading to the proliferation of diesel cars because diesel was cheaper than gasoline? Demand went up, and now diesel is more expensive than gas. So EVs use cheap electricity. Just wait and keep your eye on your electric bill…” —New Hampshire

“What fascist program hasn’t Biden been behind? He’s certainly no friend of freedom, nor is he someone who has any interest in upholding the Constitution. He’s as close as we’ve ‘endured’ as a statist, throwing out edicts as if he has any power to enforce them. He acts as a dictator, ignoring that Congress is the body of government that creates laws. (Too many, of course, but it is their role, not Biden’s.)” —New Hampshire

“Any federal funds spent on this are misappropriated. 18 USC §1645 declares it to be embezzlement, since this a personal effort of Mr. Biden, not an action authorized by Congress. Mr. Biden should review what happened to John Poindexter when he tried to bypass the congressional appropriations process to funnel aid to the Contra movement in Nicaragua after Congress explicitly said no to doing that. Perhaps he recalls that as a Democrat senator, he was outraged, and viewed it as possibly an impeachable offense by President Reagan.” —Minnesota

“As usual, your article is very well written. Climate change is just another way to enrich some companies and destroy others. Biden is doing his best to destroy the country so that it won’t matter who gets elected; it will be next to impossible to fix it. The Democrats are working overtime to get extra voters by keeping the borders open, and certain states are going to give migrants driver’s licenses and work permits.” —Michigan

“Glad to hear that in a hypothetical lineup, Trump now defeats Biden. Problem is, people are most concerned about Biden’s age, but Trump will be 78 (older than President Reagan when he left office) if he wins. And I think the GOP nominee will not be facing Biden but will face Governor Gavin Newsom in the general election. And Newsom will draw as many votes as Biden did in 2020, if not more. GOP, caveat emptor!” —California
