KJP: It’s ‘Dangerous’ to Question Us Labeling Trump a ‘Threat’
Karine Jean-Pierre demonizes those who would even question the Biden/Harris administration’s demonization of Trump.
After one of the more Orwellian comments made by White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, one wonders if we are not actually living in 1984.
Following the second assassination attempt against Donald Trump, Fox News’s Peter Doocy questioned the anti-Trump rhetoric that the Biden/Harris administration has repeatedly promulgated. “How many more assassination attempts on Donald Trump until the president and vice president and you pick a different word to describe Trump other than ‘threat’?" Doocy asked.
That question clearly triggered KJP, who immediately pushed back and flipped the script, arguing that Doocy merely raising the question was "incredibly dangerous.”
First, KJP attempted to spin the notion that members of the Biden/Harris administration bear no culpability because they have repeatedly made statements about how they are opposed to violence.
Really? So calling a participant in the nation’s democratic electoral process a “threat to democracy” is not “incredibly dangerous,” but raising the question is? Even worse, KJP doubled down on the characterization of Trump as a “threat” and invoked January 6 to defend her dubious claim. Furthermore, KJP continued to throw shade at Trump by saying that Biden was motivated to run for the presidency to “save the soul of the nation” — an oblique reference to the Charlottesville lie.
But the Biden/Harris spokesmouth wasn’t done. KJP made her response even more ridiculous by suggesting that Doocy’s question was “dangerous” because “people are watching.” What? Does KJP not believe that people are watching when the White House, Democrat lawmakers, and Leftmedia pundits repeatedly assail Trump as an “existential threat to our democracy,” a dictator in the mold of Hitler? The level of cognitive dissonance is simply astounding.
It shows a lack of self-awareness reminiscent of Biden’s Nazi-esque speech yelling about Trump’s supposed Nazism.
To remind the Biden/Harris administration and Democrats of their dehumanizing anti-Trump rhetoric, the Trump campaign recently released a list of more than 50 instances of Democrats, including Biden and Harris, labeling Trump a “threat.” For example, Harris has repeatedly said, “Trump is a threat to our democracy and fundamental freedoms.” She’s also said, “It’s on us to recognize the threat [Trump] poses.” Biden, too, has vilified his political opponent, saying, “I mean this from the bottom of my heart: Trump is a threat to this nation.” He’s also said, “There is one existential threat: it’s Donald Trump.” And who can forget this doozy from Biden: “Trump and MAGA Republicans are a threat to the very soul of this country.”
And let’s not leave out Harris’s running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who said, “Are [Republicans] a threat to democracy? Yes. … Are they going to put people’s lives in danger? Yes.”
However, if KJP still doubts the impact of the Left’s dehumanizing rhetoric against Trump, she should take a look at recent polling: 52% of Democrat voters aren’t sure if the country wouldn’t be better off if Trump had been assassinated, but 28% believe it would be.
A quarter of Democrats wish the assassins had succeeded. Let that sink in.
As for the gaslighting surrounding the Biden/Harris administration’s rhetoric on Trump, it’s actually yet another reason why so many Americans have gravitated toward him. It’s the same reason Trump won the 2016 election. Vast swaths of Americans see that Washington, instead of representing their interests, not only ignores them but is antagonistic toward them. It’s the elites deriding those “deplorables,” those “MAGA Republicans,” as the problem and a hindrance to “progress.”
Instead of treating their fellow Americans as their equals, Democrat politicians and Washington’s bureaucratic class increasingly see them as obstinate rubes that must be controlled. “Bitter clingers,” if you will.
What results is an increasingly obvious and blatant double standard. Democrats created a dehumanizing image of Donald Trump, and KJP blames the mirror for daring to reflect it.
