Is Stacey Abrams Done?

The election denier’s hand was caught in the taxpayer cookie jar. Where does that theoretically land her in the next gubernatorial election?

Thanks to all of the audits being done on the agencies within the executive branch, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin has uncovered another instance of waste. To wit, $2 billion was dolled out to a new outfit called Power Forward Communities (PFC) as part of the Biden administration’s $27 billion Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund Program — a piece of pork hidden inside the Inflation Reduction Act.

Here’s where it becomes obvious that this was a scheme. Those funds were squirreled away outside the agency — specifically at Citibank — and hidden from the incoming Trump team. As Zeldin told The Washington Free Beacon, “When we learned about the Biden Administration’s scheme to quickly park $20 billion outside the agency, we suspected that some organizations were created out of thin air just to take advantage of this. As we continue to learn more about where some of this money went, it is even more apparent how far-reaching and widely accepted this waste and abuse has been.”

PFC only received $100 in federal grant money in 2023 — it was only a few months old at that point — and according to The Blaze, “The EPA stated at the time that then-newly created PFC was committed to reducing climate and air pollution; delivering benefits to ‘low-income and disadvantaged communities,’ and mobilizing financing and private capital.”

In 2024, PFC was granted $2 billion. Not only that but as Zeldin explained, “On page one of the grant agreement, it tells them that they have 21 days to distribute all $2 billion. On page seven of the grant agreement, it gives them 90 days to complete a training called ‘How to Develop a Budget.’ I would say that any entity that needs training on how to develop a budget shouldn’t be actually distributing money before they take that training, and they certainly shouldn’t be receiving $2 billion to be distributed that rapidly.”

That’s when the digging began. Which Biden friend was associated with PFC? None other than two-time failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, who apparently founded PFC.

When was that grant money conveniently allocated? Well, according to the New York Post:

Abrams was a vocal advocate of the Biden administration’s green energy push, and last July, as calls grew for Biden to drop out of the presidential race, she penned an op-ed in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution declaring that Democrats’ “path to victory lies in standing by Biden.” “It’s time to stop the Joe Biden doom loop,” she tweeted that same month. Power Forward Communities was awarded the grant the following month.

This is not the first time an Abrams-associated group has been embroiled in fraud. In fact, two nonprofits founded by Abrams and led by Georgia Senator Raphael Warnock were sentenced to pay a $300,000 fine for breaking campaign finance law and not disclosing that they were contributing to her gubernatorial campaign. This is the largest fine ever to be issued in state history.

The receipts are starting to show up for Abrams, and they paint an even poorer image of the failed candidate. Does this latest exposure hurt her presumptive chances in the 2026 governor’s race? In August, she declared that anything is possible. Current Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, who defeated Abrams twice, cannot run for another term.

As a side note, Governor Kemp may be throwing in his hat to run for the U.S. Senate.

On the national stage, in November after Kamala Harris’s loss to Donald Trump, Abrams was named last on a New York Times list of better potential candidates for the Democrat Party — and not named at all by a local Fox affiliate in Georgia.

Abrams’s political prospects aren’t great, but Georgia has become a wildly unpredictable state. If the GOP doesn’t get its act together and run good candidates, Georgia residents could end up with a Governor Abrams despite her widely published corruption.
