“If the government isn’t addressing the major cause of obesity, and only addressing the symptoms, it’s a waste of tax dollars.”

Re: Are You a ‘Christian Nationalist’?

“Once again, we have another epithet to wear as a badge of honor. To ‘bitter clingers,’ ‘deplorables,’ and ‘ultra-MAGA,’ we can now add ‘Christian Nationalists.’” —Arizona

“‘Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.’ (James 1:17) Liberty is one of those good gifts to be used wisely and guarded as jealously for our neighbors as for ourselves. For if overbearing officials can wrongly deprive anyone of liberty, they can deprive everyone.” —Minnesota

Re: Trump’s GLP-1 Move: Smart Politics or Shortcut to Better Health?

“Right on! While making fat-burning drugs less expensive is great, it addresses the symptom and does nothing to address the cause. If the government isn’t addressing the major cause of obesity, and only addressing the symptoms, it’s a waste of tax dollars.” —Utah

Re: How Do We Reconcile America First With H-1B Visa Abuse?

“No Indians? Microsoft/Dell would collapse. No American works a job asking people if their computer was kindly being turned on, or if their servers have memory installed, for barely six figures. Only Indians can do that. No way China is going to bankroll spies at $100K/ea. Such a tiny, desolate country can’t field 600,000 university students on promises of something better than a slave-wage factory job and a refrigerator box for an apartment. The H-1B system is fine. No changes needed.” —Oklahoma

“Although I support most of what President Trump is doing, he’s gone from trying to limit H-1B visas with his $100K fee to encouraging hundreds of thousands of visas. This is a direct result of his tariff negotiation with China. It has nothing to do with need.” —Texas

Re: The New Moral Architects

“Thank you for taking the time to pursue and define this issue. For many years, my major concern for this country has been its cultural destruction and replacement with emotional blackmail if you do not go along with the crowd. Even in churches, we are subjected to this insistence that we should all feel guilty about our traditional values and replace them with appeasement of the emotional demands of those who are led to believe they are victims. We are engaged in cultural combat, and I pray for our country to be strong in its understanding of what is truly good, true, and honest.” —Colorado

“Congratulations, Michael. You have shone the spotlight on the actual problem. When some are faced with the fact that they are wrong, they redefine what wrong actually is. Voilá! Suddenly, you are right! The Bible warned us about this thousands of years ago ‘Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil … who substitute darkness for light, and light for darkness … who substitute bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter. Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and clever in their own sight!’ (Isa. 5:20-21) The passage goes on to warn that the wrath of God is coming to those whom this passage identifies. The problem is that too many people don’t actually believe in God any longer. I feel sad for them.” —Florida

Re: What Will Republicans Do About ObamaCare?

“And thus Democrats have their winning issue. In a podcast, Jay Bhattacharya stated that Americans spend $1 out of every $5 on ‘healthcare.’ That is absurd, he said, and everyone agrees. If premiums increase 20% or more because Republicans get stuck holding the ‘they let healthcare collapse’ bag — and Democrats will make sure they do — then Republicans can kiss the midterms goodbye. Kiss Trump goodbye too, because he will be impeached the day after Democrats control both houses of Congress.” —Oklahoma

“Give people a year to buy any kind of insurance available, and let the insurance companies offer everything, including catastrophic coverage and discounts for healthy living. Put a limit on how much insurance companies can raise their rates, and make individual insurance the same price as company insurance. That would be a start. Phase out ObamaCare gradually, if necessary. After a year, let the companies discriminate against preexisting conditions. Would this work? I don’t know.” —California

“In business, the most effective way to control price is to narrow the gap between production and distribution. Cut out the middle man and the burden of dozen of fees and commissions that serve no one except the non-producing parasite that has built an industry of taking a free ride on the effort of others. If healthcare is deemed to be essential, then get the burden of exploitation off the price list.” —Washington

Re: Is Trump vs. MAGA a Leftmedia Hoax?

“Right on! I also think Trump needs to rethink some of his cabinet picks and make some changes that can move his agenda a bit faster and with more transparency. He needs to tell us more about what people like Marco Rubio, JD Vance, and Pam Bondi are doing. (I also think he needs to replace Bondi and maybe Kash Patel). Essentially, he needs to tell us about his, and their, successes.” —Washington
