GOP Offers a Deal
What will the stubborn mule in the White House do?
House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) announced a new debt ceiling deal Thursday: Extend the borrowing limit for six weeks without any ObamaCare strings attached. The measure does not reopen the 17% of the federal government that’s currently shut down, but it could open the door to broader deficit-reduction talks. Boehner and other Republicans will meet with Barack Obama today to discuss. Obama still refuses to negotiate with a “gun to my head,” and he even denied that today’s meeting is a negotiation. So expect things to continue pretty much as they have.
