Pelosi Blames Founders
Life, liberty and … ObamaCare?
When a group of Democrat lawmakers was asked whether all of Barack Obama’s delays to the employer mandate would lead to a similar delay for the individual mandate, Nancy Pelosi explained that, no, such a delay was not going to happen. “In terms of the [individual] mandate,” she said, “that is central, that is central to what the law is and the law is very sound policy.” Obviously not, but then she really went off the rails: “To go back to our Founders once again, they sacrificed it all for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. This bill, the Affordable Care Act, is about a healthier life [and] the liberty to pursue your happiness – that is solid policy.” So the Founders set up a Constitution that does not authorize a federal health care takeover, and Pelosi points to them as the inspiration for ObamaCare? Unbelievable.
