Christians banned from practicing Canadian law.
If homosexual-rights activists get their way in Canada, graduates from Christian college Trinity Western University will be barred from practicing law because of their beliefs regarding same-sex marriage. According to the blog Gay Patriot, “[T]he Internet home for the American gay conservative,” the move essentially cripples Canadian Christians following their conscience. “If allowed to stand, this effectively makes devout Christians who do not believe in gay marriage second class Canadian citizens; effectively enacting dhimmitude on anyone who doesn’t forsake their religious conscience in favor of the State.” With a cake maker ordered to bake cakes contrary to his religious convictions, a fight between religious liberty and anti-discrimination laws like the one in Canada is right at our doorstep.
