Not Just No Strategy, but No Objective
Political analyst Charles Krauthammer says the problem with Barack Obama’s having “no strategy yet” for dealing with ISIL is even worse than we thought. “We thought a week ago [Obama] didn’t have a strategy,” says Krauthammer. “Now we know that he doesn’t even have an objective.” That’s the conclusion after Obama’s press conference this week casually saying his goal is “to shrink ISIL’s sphere of influence, its effectiveness, its military capability to the point where it is a manageable problem.” Krauthammer points out, “He doesn’t know if [his objective] is to destroy or containment. … The president doesn’t even know his own mind.” Needless to say, that’s a huge problem.
