NYT Can’t Believe Republicans Care About Obama’s Safety
New York Times columnist Peter Baker is astounded that Republicans don’t want Barack Obama dead. Regarding the Secret Service failures of late, Baker writes sarcastically, “President Obama must be touched by all the concern Republicans are showing him these days. As Congress examines security breaches at the White House, even opposition lawmakers who have spent the last six years fighting his every initiative have expressed deep worry for his security.” So because Republicans disagree with Obama’s leftist agenda, they should want security breaches to endanger him? “What a rancid view of the world,” writes Reason’s Matt Welch, then joking, “In unrelated news, The New York Times today announced it is eliminating 100 newsroom jobs, due to poorer-than-expected financial results.”
