America Concentrates Airstrikes Against ISIL
In a two-day span, the United States flew 40 airstrikes against the ISIL fighters amassed against the city of Kobani. Pentagon Press Secretary, Rear Admiral John Kirby, said hundreds of ISIL fighters have been killed in the city, adding “One of the reasons why you’re seeing more strikes there is because there’s more ISIL there.” The Washington Post reports the shock and awe from afar has pushed ISIL from sectors of the city – and with each thunderous bomb, America is countering ISIL propaganda to show the black flag of ISIL is carried only by men. The airstrikes seem weak, especially with Obama’s red line to never put boots on the ground during Operation Inherent Resolve (ironic, we know). But the Canadian conservative blog Small Dead Animals pointed out, “I keep hearing it said that air power along can’t stop ISIS. I don’t hear it spoken in Japanese.” If America keeps an inherent resolve with airstrikes, willingly pushing the line, bombing, bombing, bombing and never giving ISIL a rest, it may help with the group’s defeat.
