NY Couple Fined Over Denying Same-Sex Wedding
Yet another case of infringing religious liberty on account of the homosexual agenda. Cynthia and Robert Gifford own a farm in New York where they regularly allow wedding ceremonies and festivities on the farm. But they dared to deny a same-sex marriage on the premises, and the couple in question took their case to the state Division of Human Rights – and won. The New York Post reports, “The Giffords, who own the bucolic Liberty Ridge Farm in upstate New York, were ordered to pay a total of $13,000 – a $10,000 fine to the state and another $1,500 to each member of a lesbian couple to compensate them for ‘mental anguish.’ All because the Giffords, devout Christians, refused to hold a same-sex wedding ceremony on the property on which they live, work and have raised a daughter, 17, and a son, 21.” The Giffords had to let a full-time planner go because of legal expenses, and the couple in question found another venue at which to exchange vows.
