Immigration Services Hires 1,000 Because of Obama’s Action
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) released a list of job openings created because Barack Obama increased the demand for USCIS’s services after he acted on his own regarding immigration. Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) pointed out the agency was creating a facility to quickly respond to Obama’s decree-making – which some said wouldn’t cost the government extra. But this job posting shows otherwise. “USCIS is taking steps to open a new operational center in Crystal City, a neighborhood in Arlington, Virginia, to accommodate about 1,000 full-time, permanent federal and contract employees in a variety of positions and grade levels,” the posting said. “The initial workload will include cases filed as a result of the executive actions on immigration announced on Nov. 20, 2014.” This begs the question: How much will Obama’s immigration cost the U.S.? The Congressional Budget Office estimates how much a bill created by Congress will cost. There doesn’t seem to be such review for executive actions. More…
