Some NYC Residents Gloat Over Murdered Cops
Even race baiter Al Sharpton denounced the shooting of two police officers in retaliation for the death of Eric Garner. “Any use of the names of Eric Garner and Michael Brown, in connection with any violence or killing of police, is reprehensible and against the pursuit of justice in both cases,” Sharpton said. But that doesn’t stop some New York City residents from celebrating the death of the two officers. When the bodies of the officers were transported to the hospital, bystanders hurled vitriol at the police standing watch. “[T]he scene outside Woodhull Hospital wasn’t entirely supportive,” The Daily Beast writes. “‘You’re a bunch of killers,’ a passerby told cops standing sentry there, according to one police source. And short distance from the crime scene – where a crowd was backed up by the police tape – a few members of the crowd repeated ‘f— the cops’ within earshot of a Daily Beast reporter.” Other bystanders went to the scene of the shooting to laugh, clap and say, “They deserved it.” That is a troubling sign for our society. How can people who disrespect the officers who swore to keep peace and uphold Rule of Law live in a society infused with Liberty?
