Reid Doubles Down, Demands Romney’s Tax Returns
In 2012, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid took to the Senate floor and made a serious and unsubstantiated allegation about Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney: “Let him prove that he has paid taxes, because he hasn’t.” Reid knew this was a BIG Lie, which would gain traction for the Left’s class warfare game. In defending those comments recently, he smugly suggested the ends justified the means: “Romney didn’t win, did he?” And he’s not backing down — he’s doubling down. “I have no repentance,” Reid said Thursday, “because it was an issue that was important. The American people deserve to know.” So there was no evidence of his false smear, and it’s up to Romney to make it right? Yep, that’s what Reid thinks: “Listen, there’s an easy way to resolve this. Let him give us his tax returns.” Or Reid could try sticking to the truth for a change. That would resolve a lot of things.
