Clinton: Constitution? Declaration? Whatever!
Hillary confuses our founding documents when talking rights.
Last fall, Hillary Clinton released her gun control plan. Long story short, it’s full of little more than the same old leftist buzzwords that wouldn’t do anything to solve crime, much less comport with the Second Amendment. The latest from Hillary is that she doesn’t know — or care — where our rights are enumerated. “There is a constitutional right for people to own guns,” she conceded, “but there’s also a constitutional right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness that enables us to have a safe country where we are able to protect our children and others from this senseless gun violence.”
“Absolutely,” cooed her interviewer, Steve Harvey. Yes, that would be the same Steve Harvey who in December awarded the Miss Universe crown to the wrong woman before correcting himself.
Of course, we all know that the right to “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” is acknowledged not in the Constitution but the Declaration of Independence. Not that Clinton cares. Those are just words on old parchment, and she’ll advocate her favorite policies regardless. As for preserving the right to life, self-defense is key to being able to do that. And if she actually respected life, as opposed to just looking for ways to take our guns, she wouldn’t reflexively defend Planned Parenthood for carving up babies and selling their parts.
