Lawsuit Against Left’s Anti-Police Rhetoric

Black Dallas officer sues Black Lives Matter, Obama and others for inciting violence against police.

Sergeant Demetrick Pennie, a Dallas police officer, along with Freedom Watch have filed a lawsuit against Black Lives Matter, George Soros, Al Sharpton, Louis Farrahkan, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. The lawsuit alleges that the “defendants incite people to violence and cause violence by telling those people that they are under attack. Defendants are encouraging disaffected blacks, Black Muslims, Muslims and others allied with them including certain whites to ignore, disrespect, and assault law enforcement officials, and commit violence and lethal force.”

Sergeant Pennie, who is black, claims that Obama’s “War On Police” has endangered police officers and communities in which they serve by perpetuating the false narrative that recent police shootings of blacks “are not isolated incidents” but are indicative of an intentional national law enforcement movement against blacks. The lawsuit contends that Hillary Clinton, by repeating the “violent and hateful dogmas guiding her co-Defendants,” contributes to “an explosion of violence” against police.

Larry Klayman, the founder of Freedom Watch who is representing Sgt. Pennie, accuses the defendants of being “responsible … for igniting a race war that will ultimately totally destroy the freedoms that our Founding Fathers bequeathed to us.” The lawsuit seeks between $500 million and $1.5 billion in damages. Pennie’s primary objective is to push back against the unending onslaught of anti-law enforcement and racially polarizing rhetoric that continues to be perpetuated by many within the Leftmedia and some prominent Democrats.

It is unlikely that this lawsuit will advance very far due to First Amendment protections. However, it brings to light the seriousness of the inflammatory rhetoric being used by many on the Left against America’s law enforcement.
