Climate Fraud … Again
An organization studying global warming admits it claimed work it did not do.
In 2009, the world learned of Great Britain’s University of East Anglia email scandal, often referred to as Climategate. At the time it was revealed that several leading climate scientists had engaged in data manipulation in order to support their theory of man-caused global warming. The scandal proved to many critics of the man-made global warming theory that their skepticism was well founded, and yet many on the Left chose to double down, exposing their political motivation rather than their scientific commitment.
Now out of the UK comes another scandalous story. The Centre for Climate Change Economics and Policy (CCCEP), which is the leading institute tasked by the UK government to study the impact of global warming on the planet, has admitted to claiming credit for work done by rivals without their knowledge or consent. In some cases, the CCCEP has claimed credit for studies done even before the organization existed. In other words, the CCCEP has been getting the money without doing any of the work, and who’s to say whether or not the stolen work is even good work? Certainly not the CCCEP, as it seems more concerned with doing political favors and filling its pockets rather than actual research. When genuine scientific work is co-opted by those on a mission to increase their own political power, not only will the general public suffer, but so will the credibility of scientific integrity.
