The Lawless Clinton-Comey Tag Team
Hillary tells Biden not to accept an election loss, while Comey calls Trump a threat.
One of the biggest lies Democrats and the political establishment espouse is their commitment to protecting American democracy (we live in a republic in any case). This reality becomes especially apparent when they lose elections. Case in point are comments from two Washington elitists, Hillary Clinton and James Comey, who colluded to rig the 2016 election.
On Monday, Clinton argued, “Joe Biden should not concede under any circumstances because I think this is going to drag out, and, eventually, I do believe he will win if we don’t give an inch and if we are as focused and relentless as the other side is.” Besides the fact that Clinton has yet to accept the fact that she lost the 2016 election fair and square, she demonstrates her complete lack of commitment to the democratic process by insisting that any election outcome that doesn’t end with Biden as the victor should be disputed and rejected until he is coronated.
Clinton, ridiculously and without any evidence, further asserts that President Donald Trump and Republicans will engage in “messing up absentee balloting” and will intimidate voters outside polling stations. She therefore calls for Democrats to field “our own teams of people to counter” their efforts.
Meanwhile, lending his voice to the false narrative that Trump represents an existential threat to America, disgraced former FBI Director James Comey published an op-ed on Tuesday asserting that “nobody is safe … if Trump-style justice becomes the norm.” Comey’s screed serves as yet another example of just how politicized and bitter he is. It also serves to justify Trump’s decision to fire him.
In the piece, which was more fiction than fact, Comey spins a yarn about standing up for fairness and “evenhanded” justice. While asserting that the Justice Department has been seriously damaged, he fails to correctly attribute the blame for that damage by laying it at the feet of Trump and Attorney General William Barr. In truth, it is Trump and Barr who are working to repair the damage to the FBI done by the likes of Comey, who allowed his own higher loyalty to Hillary Clinton to dictate his approach to law enforcement.
Comey asserts that “the facts and law — not loyalty to Trump, or wealth, or race — must be the only thing that matters.” Agreed. But why did Comey not follow this principle? By his own declared political leanings, he admitted that he favored Clinton over Trump, and this clearly informed his enforcement of the law — a fact brought home by his letting Clinton off easy over her email scandal. Furthermore, per the findings of Inspector General Michael Horowitz, the FBI abused the FISA courts in its efforts to spy on Trump with FISA warrants that Comey repeatedly signed.
While Comey openly admitted to treating Trump differently than both Barack Obama and George W. Bush, he justified this double standard by suggesting that Trump was somehow worse than his predecessors simply because he threatened the Washington establishment. He admitted that he leaked his own memos to the media following his firing with the intent of initiating Robert Mueller’s special investigation.
And all this was based on the infamous and dubious anti-Trump dossier, paid for by the Clinton campaign and knowingly used by Comey as a pretext to justify his biased operation against Trump.
So spare us the platitudes about “rule of law” and a commitment to “truth-telling,” Mr. Comey, as you still promote the Russian-collusion hoax with statements like, “It’s not America when the president takes Russian President Vladimir Putin’s side over the United States intelligence community.” Does the Washington establishment dictate truth?
Comey claims that Trump “represents a continued frontal assault on the truth — on the very idea that ‘truth’ exists” and, therefore, “we need to elect Joe Biden.” Joe the serial liar? Clearly, Comey is suffering from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome. Or maybe he’s worried that he’ll be held to account for his own corrupt actions when John Durham concludes his probe.
If Clinton or Comey were really interested in preserving and protecting democracy and law and order, they’d be calling out the blatant attempt by Democrat lawmakers to increase the probability of fraud in the election with their massive mail-in voting scheme. That is the real existential threat facing the country’s electoral system, not Trump’s reelection.
