Hillary Clinton Initiated the Russia-Collusion Hoax?
Declassified info claims Clinton was the source behind the disinformation.
Just ahead of the debate Tuesday, National Intelligence Director John Ratcliffe released declassified information to the Senate Judiciary Committee alleging that Hillary Clinton was responsible for orchestrating the Trump/Russia collusion hoax. Back in July 2016, U.S. intelligence agencies received information from analysis of Russian intelligence indicating that the Clinton campaign had plotted to tie Donald Trump “to [Vladimir] Putin and the Russians’ hacking of the Democratic National Committee.” According to the report, Clinton intended to direct attention away from the scandal surrounding her own private server email.
Importantly, Ratcliffe’s letter notes that the U.S. intelligence community “does not know the accuracy” of the allegations. Yet he also states, “To be clear, this is not Russian disinformation and has not been assessed as such by the Intelligence Community.” Ratcliffe further observes that then-CIA Director John Brennan “briefed President Obama and other senior national security officials about the intelligence, including the ‘alleged approval by Hillary Clinton on July 26, 2016 of a proposal from one of her foreign policy advisors to vilify Donald Trump by stirring up a scandal claiming interference by Russian security services.’”
However, the question of the accuracy of the information isn’t the main point. As Senator Lindsay Graham (R-SC) argues, “I’m not saying whether it’s true or not. I’m asking Democrats, ‘Do you give a damn whether the FBI investigated it, or do you just care about investigating Trump?’ They took the whole damn country through hell for two and a half years. And is it far-fetched to believe that the Clinton campaign would do something like this after Christopher Steele?”
Graham’s comment alludes to the fact that Barack Obama’s FBI used the Clinton-funded Steele dossier (the primary sub-source we learned just last week was a long-time suspected Russian spy) as a pretext to justify launching a politically motivated investigation into Trump’s alleged collusion with Russia. Meanwhile, when the FBI received information claiming that Clinton was behind a plot to smear Trump as a Putin puppet, the agency essentially dismissed it as little other than hearsay and not worthy of further investigation. The double standard is patently obvious.
And as Graham suggested, knowing Clinton’s history, it would not at all be surprising if Hillary was indeed behind the biggest scandal in American political history.
